Emma sighed and looked down at her phone for what seemed the hundredth time, waiting for him to text back.
Marshall had gone on family vacation and had already been gone for two weeks.
She missed him.
She tried to watch Tangled, but it only made her think of Marshall, and how he wasn't there to watch it with her.
The only way she had found to distract herself so far, was by listening to her Disney playlist on repeat, and brushing her hair out with a fork-erm...dinglehopper.
'Part of Your World' had just ended when a familiar melody began to play.
"You know I'm really not supposed to speak to strangers, but we've met before."
Emma's face lit up and she leaped off her bed, tossing the fork aside.
"I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream...", came the music from her iPod.
Emma bowed, before dancing around her bedroom with an invisible partner, pretending she was Aurora, day-dreaming in the woods.
Her eyes were closed as she twirled around the room, only to be spun into the arms of someone singing extremely off-key.
"Marshall!" She exclaimed. She wasn't sure what surprised her more, the fact that he was here, or that he singing..
willingly.
He grinned, "Hi Em." He took her hands and continued dancing with her.
"When did you even get back?!" She asked, still slightly in shock.
"About a half-hour ago." He spun her around.
Emma's grin only grew wider. The moment seemed so magical, like they had been transported from a fairy tale.
And to think, a few short months ago, this boy hated Disney . She thought, proud of how far he'd come.
She continued to ask him about his trip, but he said there wasn't much to tell. Frankly, Emma's spark and enthusiasm had made their trip seem dull. He was relieved to be home.
"So do you think we can add Philip and Aurora to our list of relatable Disney couples?" Marshall asked.
"I still haven't agreed to date you." Emma said to clarify. They were something, obviously, but she still hadn't told him that they could be anything more than friends at the moment.
Marshall scoffed.
"Besides, you're not Prince Philip-y enough." She said in a matter of fact tone.
"I'm dancing with you aren't I?"
"The owl danced with her too." She said with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you telling me that I resemble an owl more than a Prince?" He asked, moving his feet to the music.
"That's exactly what I'm saying."
He narrowed his eyes at her.
"I know your weakness." He threatened.
"Oh I'm so scared, I think my bunny slippers just ran for cover." She replied sarcastically.
Suddenly he attacked her sides and she collapsed in a fit of laughter.
"How did... you know... I.. was ticklish?" She asked gasping for air. That was something no one should know. It resorted her to a state that was completely, and utterly defenseless.
He ignored her question and instead asked one of his own.
"Remind me why I even try with you?" He shook his head, staring into her eyes.
She leaned up, breathing still slightly irregular, and pressed her lips against his.
He was slightly taken back but soon melted into the kiss. Never had he experienced such bliss.
Everything he loved about her seemed to intensify in that moment, and he couldn't imagine every loving another human being quite the same.
Emma pulled away with a small smile.
"Oh yeah, now I remember." He said in a low voice.
