"Right, then let's exchange numbers!" Sena suggested, grabbing her phone. "Okay, here." Haru switched phones with her and started typing out her number. She smiled as she typed down each number, she's never done this with a friend.. Wait, are they friends? What if Sena doesn't consider her a friend... "What type of face is that... Are you scared of giving out your number?" Sena laughed at her expression. "Ah! That's not it.. It's just.. We're friends now, right?" She mustered up the courage. "Of course we are!" Sena smiled, handing her phone back. Haru looked at the contact name, Sena had already entered it by herself. It was just a simple, "Jaya :)" But it felt nice. "Ah, you put your name as Jaya. Do you want me to call you that?" Haruka was pretty polite. "Mm, do whatever. I only let my family call me Jaya, but you're an exception since you're nice! Don't call me that around others though." She smiled at her. "Alright. Then, please, call me Haru!" Haruka smiled back. "Okay, Haru!" Sena giggled.
A few days passed, and they hanged out together at the study room everyday afterschool. "Shh!! We can't laugh too loudly or they'll call my mom." Sena couldn't keep a straight face. "Sorry!!" Haru responded, flipping her textbook page. They sat right in-front of each-other at a table next to a window. It was their little spot. "Haru, have you made any new friends at school yet?" Sena started a conversation again. "Not really.. All they really ask me for are my notes since I keep getting good grades. It's thanks to you!" Haru looked at her. "Haha, I wish other people could see how fun you are." Sena smiled, working out a small math problem to the side of the textbook. "Yeah, but, I rather hang out with you than anyone else." Haruka smiled. That flushed Sena a little. "Ah, erm.. Same."
A few years passed and they were finally in their 8th grade. The end of Junior high, and the start of High school. "Haru!" Sena ran over to her.  "Hi, are we still gonna study on our last day?" Haruka laughed. " 'Course not! Let's go to a cafe or something." Sena dragged her off school grounds. "Mm, school is finally over. I'm kind of nervous for highschool. I couldn't make any friends in this school, so, hopefully next year. "  "No need to worry~ I'll be there right next to you. I'm excited to finally attend a public school." Sena leaned on her, "And we have to talk about crushes!! Like, all the time!! Boy talk is so fun." Haru just smiled at her comment. "Wait, you didn't have any crushes at school right?! I've never asked you!" Sena realized. "Mm," Haru smiled, "Well, I did have one." "WHO?! Do you have his socials!? omg!!" Sena got over-excited. "Not telling~" Haru laughed it off while Sena kept bothering her. How could she not see that her crush was her?
