"Next in line!" The ride worker called out. "Me and Choi will go on first! We'll wait for you by the exit!" Mei said as she left the two girls behind. "This is pretty comfortable." Choi said, moving around in her seat. "I guess." Mei stared out the cart, out to the city. "I wish our town did things like these. I haven't been to a lot of fairs." Choi looked out aswell. "Mm, well, to be fair our town was pretty small." Mei looked at her. "Haha, still. You know~ this reminds me of how my parents took us to a ferris wheel when we were little!" Choi started. "Nah, this is nothing like it. And please---Don't enter a flashback." Mei laughed. "Why not!! Times were so fun back then." Choi sighed. "Mm," Mei stared off into the sky. Maybe it was fun for Choi, but it definitely wasn't fun for Mei.
Well, why wouldn't it be fun for her? Because she had to watch Choi basically fantasize about Chongyun. Anytime, anywhere, Choi would always be staring at Chongyun. And not at her.
"And then, Chongyun was like--" "Why don't you just confess to him already?" Freshman Mei interrupted her. "Huh? Well, I don't think he likes me.." Choi shrugged. "Anyone would be crazy to not like you." Mei sipped from her vanilla milkshake. "Thank you~ But, really, I think I'll just be a bother. Ah! Remember Xingqiu?" Choi folded a napkin to keep herself busy. "Barely.. He left like 10 years ago." Mei responded. "Not that long~ But, that's not the point. Xingqiu and him were so close... I kind of aspire to reach that friendship with Yun before I do any confessing. I mean, they got a long so well. Even if they were just kids, not even I could befriend him to that point." Choi went on-and-on. "Then just find another guy.. There's plenty that like you." Mei suggested, she had finally gotten tired of Chongyun. "Nah, what are you even talking about, no one likes me," Choi shrugged. "I like you." Mei sipped more of her drink, she kept a straight face but Im guessing she was freaking out in her head. "Haha, don't joke about that Mei." Choi smiled, unfolding the napkin. "Yeah sorry." Mei laughed.
"I'm gonna confess." Junior Choi said, pretty confidently too. "Finally!" Yuri rose her arms. "Haha, I just.. Hmm. I think we've gotten pretty close!! I hope we stay on good terms even if he doesn't feel the same way." Choi looked over to Mei, "What do you think?" Mei hesitated, I mean, she did have some type of feelings for Choi. "I think... This is good. I mean, you've liked him for.. how many years now?" Mei laughed. "Don't tease me!!" She turned back to Yuri, "So.. How should I do it?" "Mm, not sure? Maybe ask him out to a ca-" "Yuri! Prez wants us all at the club room." A student council member came over. "Ah, sure! Sorry guys, I have to go to the meeting. I'll talk to you later, and Choi~ tell me all about it!" Yuri stood from her seat. "Then," Mei started standing up, "I guess I should leave too. School ended 10 mins ago, and you have some confessing to do~" "Noo!! Don't leave me." Choi jokingly frowned. "Haha," Mei patted her back, "Don't worry, I'm sure it'll turn out fine." "Thank you. Then, bye Mei!" Choi turned around to see Mei leave the cafeteria, where barely anyone else was still in. "Bye! Goodluck, Choi!" She left the doors.
"Sis!" A little girl called out from Mei's room. "Yeah?" Mei came in the room, a towel on her hair from partly drying it. "I was playing on your phone but someone's calling." She stuck out her hand. "Oh, it's Choi. Thank you Maki." Mei smiled, ruffling her sisters head and jumping on her bed before answering the call. She was gonna greet her with a usual joke or something, but, Choi was crying. "Hey, what's wrong?" She asked. "He doesn't like me. I knew it. I should've never ruined it." Choi said in between sniffles. Mei didn't really know how to comfort her since she had never been rejected, partly because she's never confessed to anyone though. Maki gave her a confused look after hearing someone crying, so Mei just pointed at the door so that she would leave. "Choi... You didn't ruin anything. You guys can always remain friends--" "We can't! Haven't you seen any of those TV shows? They never go back to normal!" She complained. "Choi. You're really gonna base your future on some TV drama.." Mei sighed, "Honestly.." "Hey! It's all the experience I have." "Mhm. Well, Choi. It's okay to feel sad. Even if you wanted something more than friends with him, you have the choice to keep trying, remain as you are, or just cut him off. Thouuugh it might be a little toxic of you to cut him off." Mei laughed. Choi laughed a little too, "You're right. I don't know.. It just feels a little weird since I've had a crush on him since like.. 6 years? I don't even remember." "Haha, it'll get better soon. Have you heard abo..."
