Rubbing my eyes I stare out into the darkness of the night. Suddenly, as fast as it came the yellow light disappears. It was just a firefly. It was just a firefly.

Shutting off the light in my room, I climb into the comfort of my bed. Slowly drifting off to sleep as I feel my whole body shut down with a deep slumber.

I wake to the noise of crunching autumn leaves outside my bedroom window. Sounding like someone or something  is walking out side. The brisk air brushing against my face, surely turning my noise a radiant shade of pink.

Flipping the covers off my body I swing my feet off of the side of the bed and immediately regret my decision. The cool hardwood floor freezes the bottom of my feet, making me want to retreat to the safety of my warm bed.

Against my better judgement I continue my course to the window. Grasping the fluttering curtain, I pull it back so I can peak through the window. The wind blows unforgivingly in my face, wrapping my body in the cold of the autumn weather.

The noise has stopped since I had gotten out of bed, Yet I still have the nagging feeling of eyes on me. Walking over to my closet I pull a wool robe over my petite form, as my feet find their way to my slippers before opening the door to my bedroom. The little light in the hallway casts a shadow of my figure on the walls as I walk around the corner.

Nearing the backdoor of the house, I grasp the handle of the door. Pulling down slightly I slide the door open. Cowering at the slight squeak it makes when I pull it agar.

Brushing through the small gap in the door, I shut it lightly as I stumble down the steps of my back porch, into the dead grass of the back yard.

The harsh winds wrap around my body, daring to pull me over like a ship on the water. I shuffle through the dead leaves as my eyes search the ground of any form of movement.

I hear a sudden twig snap in front of me, making my head dart up in caution. Looking into the the tall evergreen forest in front of me I shiver. The harsh winds blow against my body, making me resemble a boat in the water, swaying my body. I wrap my thin rope tighter around my small form, trying to keep the cold weather from endangering me any more.

"Hello? I call, the cold wind making my voice crack slightly. "Is anyone there?"

Suddenly the bushes shake, making me squint my eyes in order to grasp the figures form. "Hello?" I call again. No answer. Suddenly a cat pops out of the bushes startling me. Good God cat!

"Hey there little guy." I call, inching closer with my hand out in front of me. The cat turns around quickly, it's tail sticking up and hissing before running away.

Confused I walk up the steps of the house, and retreat to my room. I slip my slippers off as my feet meet the edge of my bed. I climb into the safety of my comforter, before letting sleep over take my shaking form.

Sorry this chapter is so short, I've had to literally rewrite it about 30 times because Wattpad won't save it for some reason. It's really pissing me off. The next chapter will be 100 times better I promise and there will be more action.
