The pirate's treasure (male x female mermaid reader)

Welcome aboard the Golden Sable.

"Today my friends, is the day we make history. We are the first to have ever captured us a mermaid!" the man cheered followed with the rest of the people joining him.

I didn't move a single inch hoping that somehow, I would wake up and that it was all just a dream.

I didn't wake up.

Instead, I felt a hand roughly grabbing my upper arm and turning me around, my head now facing the sky. I couldn't help but let out a little yelp out of pain. Making the man chuckle.

I felt incredibly stupid.

With all the strength I had, I lifted my body up to sit instead of lying there like a fish out of the water.

I was though.

As soon as I had a little balance I hugged my tale to hide my chest. I could feel all their eyes on me. I stared at the floor next to me.

Again, the terrifying sound of those boots. BADUMP. BADUMP. BADUMP. The boots stopped right in front of me.

I clenched my jaw and squinted my eyes ready to be treated roughly again. Instead, his hand gently but firmly grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.

"What's your name love?" the man cooed. I didn't answer. What he definitely didn't enjoy. "Cat get your tongue?" He said clearly annoyed. Again, I didn't answer. I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of him seeing me vulnerable. I just stared him in the eyes, trying my best to hide the fact that I was scared to death.

"ANSWER!" the man screamed in my face. "Y/N." I said a bit startled of his harsh tone.

"Was that so hard? Hmmm?" he said and let go of my face. He turned on his heel to face all the other people. He pointed at a random man. "Take her to the cells." he ordered at the man.

The man tapped someone else on the shoulder and they started walking towards me. My heart started to pound faster and faster in my chest.

The other man reached out to grab me. Nature took over again and I hissed at the man, my teeth forming into sharp points and my nails get longer and razor sharp. Both men immediately backed away and looked at their captain.

"Tsk. Merfolk, look so beautiful at first, but when they show their true nature, they are everything but beautiful." the captain said, smirking at me.

I know that stupid human that's the whole point of our strength.

The captain looked back at the two men and rose his eyebrows in impatience. The two looked at each other with fear in their eyes and walked back towards me.

I waited until they were just in front of me and lashed out towards their legs with my nails. They both jumped back again.

The captain rolled his eyes at his dumb crew.

"If you do not cooperate and stay on deck until we are on land, I won't be so generous and simply knock you out and keep doing that until we are at our destination." he said dryly like it was nothing.

That would make my chance at escaping impossible!

I slowly pulled my claws back in and made my teeth go back to normal. I looked at the floor as a signal of surrender.

The two men grabbed me. One my tail the other one my shoulders. My chest was fully revealed again, but I didn't care I just stared at the one holding my tail. The adrenaline was still in control and there was not a single sign of fear in my body. The moment the male noticed I was staring daggers at him he quickly looked away.

They carried me towards a door and opened it. Just before they carried me in, the captain went to stand in front of the door.

He took of his huge hat and bowed deeply. "Welcome aboard the Golden Sable led by me, Leviathan Carys." he said with a huge smirk plastered on his face.

BAM! The doors closed shut.

The two men carried me through dark hallways until they reached a cranky old door. The taller man with a scruffy beard who was holding my tale kicked the door open to reveal old cells. With -luckily- no one in them.

They stepped inside the room and -again- kícked the cell door open. Harshly my body hit the ground after they decided to just let go. I held back a yell and bit back my tongue.

No time to be vulnerable now.

As fast as I could I turned around to face the men. I grabbed the bars and pulled myself on my knees. My claws had already formed. Swiftly, I lashed out towards the men who had already turned around ready to walk out of the room. "AARGHH!" the shorter man screamed. My claws impaled his back, blood streaming out of the wound. The man stumbled forwards out of my reach and the other one glanced at his friend and then back at me. "You bitch!" he yelled. He reached out trying to hit me, but quickly pulled back when he saw my teeth sharpening. Eyes staring straight through the men's souls as they hurriedly got out of the room.

BAM! The door was closed. The men were gone. Everything was quiet. Slowly all the adrenaline washed away and all there was left was fear and sorrow. I had entered a world I didn't understand.

I'm alone and lost. So very lost.

Soon tears started rolling uncontrollably from my eyes. I lowered myself back to a sitting position. Hugging my knees, I started sobbing.

I had never cried like this before.

Never had I cried thinking it would never stop, that everything was gone and lost.

I couldn't stop.

I was tired and felt sick. The thick air pained my lungs. The breeze made all my scales hurt. Today was my 18th birthday. The day I had looked forward to for so many years, the day I was supposed to finally be free. And yet I'm now sitting in a cell captured by pirates.

After a long time, the heavy feeling of my eyelids became heavier than every other feeling. I slowly let my eyes shut.

Sooo I haven't written in this book for months. I didn't have the time and inspiration, because of school. But I've still been writing a lot and improved a lot so yeah. You might notice some changes, it's because I've reread it and have all kinds of new inpiration, but I'm going to need to make some changes.
