Your friends lifted up their glasses, but how they never got to celebrate. Their eyes were on the lookout for reasons to applaud, but how they got to watch me shamelessly slipping into the vague darkness of the evening. How they got to whisper queri...

What are you about to read is a work inspired from something I equate with my mind and my heart - music and books. The music I'm talking about here is 'Champagne Problems' by none other than Taylor Swift and the book that inspired this work is Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women'. If you're acquainted with either of these masterpieces, then you're about to find many references and phrases and paragraphs inspired from these two. And I feel not even a drop of shame in admitting that yes, these two are the ones that shoved ideas into my empty head to even consider writing this. I have plucked off narratives from them and squeezed them between my own ideas and portrayals with my fingers crossed in hopes that you'll find it worth your time.
Like how I love my books and music, the story's going to be sad. My heartiest apologies in case you came here looking for something jovial, I love writing about heartbreaks because I don't talk about it much. And what can you even except from something birthed out of the story of Jo and Laurie (you know if you know) and a song about turned-down proposal that comes with intense guilt and shame? Well, you have your answer there!
Hope my words do justice to both the song and the book and the whole idea I came up with, and if you're reading it, I'll offer my heartiest gratitude to you for the same.
With love,
