Alexander is sitting in his office drinking his second cup of coffee. He is in a flurry of excitement because today is the big day. It's his first date with Matt. He's called Jace's cell countless times, but he's never answered.
Where the hell is he? Last night he went out with some chick and said he'd be back early, but he never came back.
Alexander picks up the phone and calls Clary, Jace's secretary.

Clary: Harronate Corp. Office of the president.
Alexander rolls his eyes.
Alexander: Clary, it's me.
Clary: Mr. Firewood, what can I do for you?
Alexander: Where's your boss?
Clary: I don't know, sir.
Alexander: He has not reported in?
Clary: No, sir.
Alexander: Damn it! Listen, Clary, if he's there, call me immediately.
Clary: Yes, sir. I'll do that immediately. Rest assured.
Alexander: Easier said than done, but thank you, Clary.
Alexander hangs up the phone and slams it down.
Alexander: Damn it! Where are you, Jace? I need you, damn it!

Alexander runs to Jace's office after Clary informs him of his arrival. Once there, he finds Clary with a tray of coffee, chocolate croissants, water, and painkillers.
Alexander: Where is he?
Clary: In the bathroom.
Alexander enters the bathroom and finds Jace in the shower with his hands on the wall, his head lowered and hot water dripping down his back.
