Cammilla Rose

When we entered the cafeteria I headed towards the make shift stage in the corner of the room. It consisted of a series of platforms set side by side.

As expected Imaan was pacing the floor in front of the stage looking stressed. I walked towards Imaan, still holding Hectors hand. Everyone in the cafeteria went quite for some reason. Meh, I'm probably imagining it.

"Imaan!" I called out. She turned around and hurried towards me.

"Oh my goodness Cammilla! Do you have any ide..." Imaan stopped talking mid-sentence when she saw something behind me. I turned around and there stood Hector, and also the whole cafeteria was watching us with their mouths hanging open.

"Psst, Imaan!" I whisper/shouted.

"Why is everyone staring at us like we just told them that Principle Higgins is pregnant with triplets?" I asked Imaan then gave everyone in the cafeteria a fake, awkward grin. Because, you know, he's a dude, and that would just be disturbing and weird and, kay I should stop now. My mind really goes off tack sometimes.

"Mabey it's because you just walked in holding hands with the scariest guy in the school" Imaan replied.

Oh, so that's why everyone went quite.

"What are you doing with him, I told you to stay away from him." Imaan hissed.

"Imaan!" I exclaimed.

"How can you say that?" I was furious.

"You don't even know him!"

"Cammilla I worry about you that's why." Imaan said with a sad look.

"Anyway, hurry up and get on the stage already you go on like now!" I gave Imaan a thumbs up and turned to Hector.

"Okay, I have to go now, wish me luck!" With that I let go of Hectors hand and made my way up to the stage. My hand missed the presence of Hectors.

Imaan passed me my guitar out of my guitar case. I had decided what song I was going to play.

You see, I don't sing a certain song for no reason. I express my feelings through a song. I sing a song that represents my mood or if I'm trying to get a point across to someone. And that someone today was Hector.

I started strumming my guitar and the words of the song started flowing out my mouth.

Play Music

She gave it her best

She tried to fit in

She tried to be cool

But she never could win

Her mom says she's great

The kids think she's weird

Honestly she wish she could disappear

Why you try, try to be like the rest of them

When you know there's so much more within
