Chapter 4

Amelias POV

When we got to the hotel Derek checked us in, he and Addison are paying for a room for me, I felt bad about them having to spend their money but they insisted

Once we got checked in I dropped my things off in one room and Christopher and I went to visit Addie and Derek and theirs and Addison immediately took Chris from me and started to play with him

"How's school?" Derek ask and I shrug

"Not bad" I tell him

"Make any friends?" He ask and I smile thinking of Arizona

"Whoa- what was that?" Addison teases

"Nothing there's just this girl, Arizona. She was really nice from the first day and invited me into her friend group" I say smiling

"Seems like someone has a crush" Addison says and I shake my head

"I'm not into girls" I say and she laughs

"Yea right Amelia" she says and I shake my head

"They did invite me to a party tomorrow and she is always wanting to hang out" I say

"You should, it's good to make friends" Derek says

"And what would you propose I do with my one year old? Mom wants nothing to do with him and Kathleen just looks" I say and he frowns

"Why don't we watch him tomorrow so you can go to the party and another day so you can hang out?" Addison offers

"I can't let you do that. Especially not tomorrow. He's teething and is a little terror" I say

"Addisons right Amelia, we're offering. You should go have fun. Just because you're a mom doesn't mean you can't have fun" Derek says and I smile softly

Not what mom says

"Exactly, and maybe you can tell them about him" Addie says and I shake my head

"No way, I get enough dirty looks at daycare, can you imagine what's going to happen if the school finds out I have a one year old?" I ask

"I'm not saying everyone, I mean this Arizona girl" Addie says and I sigh

"What if she doesn't want to be friends after finding out?" I ask and look down at Chris who was chewing on his hands

"I need to feed him" I say, it's past the time he usually eats dinner and I'm surprised he isn't yelling about it now

"You okay with ordering room service?" Derek ask and I nod

Half an our later we had our food and I sat Chris in my lap, feeding him what he could eat off my plate

I fed him until he refused anymore and took him back to our hotel room so I could get him ready for bed

I put him in the bath and he splashed as I washed what little hair he does have and his body

Once I started to let the water out he threw a fit, like I said he is a water baby

"Bubba it's time for bed" I tell him while he cries

I just wrapped him up in a towel and began to walk around the hotel room with him until he stopped and I was able to get him dressed as well as get him some medicine

Once he was in his pajamas We made our way back over to Derek and Addisons room

"Oh give me" Addison says and I chuckle as she takes Chris from my arms and he settles into hers

"Derek! Look how cute he is! I want a baby" Addison says

"Not yet" Derek says and Addison pouts

"You can always move here and you can see him whenever you want" I say and they smiles

"I like that idea, one day " Derek says

"Good, I need you guys." I say

"I'm sorry moms so hard on you" Derek says and I sigh

"It's whatever, but, thanks to her I know what I don't want to ever make Chris feel like" I say softly

My mom has made me feel lower than anyone else ever has. All she does is talk down on me

I have tried to have a good relationship with her and it never works

She was like this even before I got pregnant, getting pregnant just seemed to make it worse

"Text your friend and tell them you'll be at that party tomorrow" Addison says and I look over to her and see Chris almost asleep in her arms with his paci in his mouth And I smile

"I don't know" I say

"Go Amelia, we'll be fine with the baby and I'll even come pick you up myself afterwards" Derek says

"Are you sure?" I say again, I don't think I have ever left Chris while I went out with friends

I never had the chance, I had no one to watch him and even if I did I had no friends

Well, I did until I got pregnant, once I got pregnant everyone left me. Between Ryan calling me a slut along with his football friends none of mine stood up for me

We were just freshman. I was the stupid freshman girl who thought the senior was actually into me

"We're sure" they both say and I smile

"Why don't you lay him down and we can play a game or something" Addison suggest and I nod and carefully take the baby from her arms and move him to our room

Once I laid him on the bed I put pillows around him to ensure he didn't fall and I joined Addison and Derek back in their room

We played a board game they had brought and it was getting late so we said out goodnights and I went back to my room and showered

Once that was over I had on a large t shirt and panties and got into bed and Chris moved to where he was curled up into my side and one of his little hands gripped the top of my shirt

I kissed his head and laid down next to him properly

I really just hoped he would sleep through the night, I know the teething must hurt him but I hope the medicine works too, I could really use some sleep, not even going to lie

Having a kid is hard, even when I do get to sleep during the night I'm so busy during the day I'm exhausted by the time I get home,

Just as I was about to fall asleep I felt Chris move and sit up

"Mama" he whines and I pull him back down next to me

"Shhh, mamas here" I say soothingly and rub my hand on his back and he fell right back to sleep allowing me to finally follow in his footsteps
