It had been around six years since your and Leon's first date. It's been around four since your marriage. Leon's helped raise Terry and overall a great husband. But as the years went on and work had gotten more stressful for him he started drinking allot more. He drank around Terry wich you didn't mind because he wasn't a bad drunk. Until one day when you come home to see Terry laying on the floor looking like he's sleeping. You smile a little bit going over to him to pick him up but when you do you smell a strong smell of alcohol. You gently shake him awake and he wakes up.
"Son what happened?" You ask
"I was thirsty and we didnt have anything and i didn't want water so I just got whatever that was from the cabinet and drank it" he says pointing twoards Leon's alcohol cabinet. You then look twoards the floor to see a half empty scotch bottle.
"Terry" you say in a low voice "did you not know that was alcohol?" You ask
"No I read scotch and thought of butter scotch" he says "when I drank it it made my mouth dry so I drank more" he says as you sigh "is that bad?" He asked getting frantic.
"It's okay you didn't know" you say helping him up.
"I'm sorry dad" he says
"No its okay" you say walking him to the kitchen
"I thought it was okay because I saw Leon drinking it" he says, your heart drops
"I guess it's my fault I never told you growing up" you chuckle with a fake smile. You give Terry a glass of water and sent him to his room. You go sit in the living room and wait for Leon to get home. It was about 30 minutes before he enters the house.
"Hello love" he says with a smile, hanging his jacket on the hook.
"Leon" you say in a low voice. He looks at you confused "we need to talk" you say, he sits down in his chair and looks at you.
"Yes?" He asks
"When I came home I saw Terry laying on the floor, passed out" you say, Leon looks really worried
"What happened? Is he okay?" He asks
"He is. He got into your alcohol stash, he downed half a bottle of scotch" you explain
"He really is your son" Leon chuckles, you smile but it fades quickly
"Leon, I'm gonna have to ask you lighten up a bit on the alcohol" you say seriously
"What?" Leon asks irritated.
"Look is a bad influence for Terry" you try to explain
"He needs to know what it's like to be around so he can decide how he needs to handle it" Leon says "you can't shelter him from everything Y/n" he says
"I'm not sheltering him from anything, he told me himself that he thought it was okay because you did it" you explain. "Who have you the better judgement on how to raise my son? Your not even his real father" you spit.
"Your not even a real man" Leon spits back in a fit of blind rage. He then realizes what he said. It takes a moment for you to fully process of what he says. When you do your heart drops, tears well up in your eyes.
"Get out of my house" you say pointing at the door
"Y/n I'm so sorry I didn't mean it, it just slipped out" Leon stutters out
"Get out!" You yell pointing at the door. Leon grabs his jacket and leaves. You go over to the couch and sit down with your face in your hands and start to cry. "How could I let him do this to me" you whisper to yourself "I trusted him, he was the only one who stood up for me" you say, but before you could continue you feel someone hug you. You look up to see Terry, you hug him back
"I saw everything" he says "dad, don't listen to him. You're more of a man than he'll ever be" he says trying to cheer him up. "Look, screw him if he can't respect you then don't respect him." He explains.
"6 years on my life with that man" you say "If I can even call him a man" you mumble. "What sucks is that whenever someone says something like that I can go to Leon and he'd comfort me" you sigh "but I guess I can't do that anymore" you say before Suddenly you get a call from Chris, but before you can answer it Terry snatches your phone
"Don't worry about it dad, you try to relax and I'll talk to uncle Chris" Terry says with a smile. He walks off and you lay on the couch
Terry's pov
"Hello" I say answering the phone
"Hey Terry how's your dad? I heard what happened" uncle Chris asks
"He's not doing to good I think he's in denial" I reply. Uncle Chris makes a noise in response
"I can't believe Leon said that" he says "I'm gonna have to go bye Terry"
"Goodbye uncle Chris" I respond before uncle Chris hangs up.
Normal pov
Terry walks back into the living room to see you asleep on the couch with tear stained face. He goes and gets you a blanket and lays it on top of you. He gets a call and he answers it in the kitchen quietly
"What do you want?" He asks with a hint of disgust in his voice
"I know you might hate me, but I need to know" Leon says over the phone pausing for a moment "how is he?" He Asks in a shaky voice
"If you need to know, you hurt him Leon" Terry says harshly "he loved you, I'm pretty sure he still does" he continues "to be completely honest with you man I wouldn't want you to even talk to him again but it's not up to me" Terry continues "you hurt him, it's his decision to forgive you or not" Terry says before hanging up the phone. He goes back out to the living room
"Who where you talking to? " you ask
"Oh no one" he says dodging the question
"Who where you talking to?" You ask again
"Leon" Terry sighs
"You can't talk to him like that" you say
"But dad-" he tries to say but gets cut off
"It's disrespectful, he's older Than you" you say
"Dad why show someone respect who hurt you like this?" Terry asks
"He said he didn't mean it, it was the heat of the moment. It doesn't mean it wasn't right, we've all said something in the heat of the moment" you say looking at your phone laying on the table. Before you could pick it up there was a ring of the doorbell. You go and open the door, to your surprise Leon was there. His face was tear stained and he stood there surprised that you opened the door. You tear up and before he could say anything you hug him,he hugs back. Terry sighs and walks to his room.
"Y/n I'm sorry, it was a hard day at work and I didn't mean to say that. I'll lighten up on the alcohol, your a great father" he says rushed
"Leon it's okay" you say before pulling him into a kiss. You pull away "I forgive you, I know it was the heat of the moment. We've all said stuff like that" you say before pulling him inside. The two of you lay on the couch and the two of you cuddle for hours.
