Chapter 5 - Cold night

Vanoss looked over at his phone as he heard it buzz, he quickly checked it. It was a text message from Delirious saying he was finally landing. Evan smiled and texted him back saying he was on his way. He hopped of the couch and shoved his phone in the side pocket of his black jeans. Evan quickly grabbed his red jacket, sliding it on before he walked outside since it was winter and it was snowing outside. As soon as Evan opened the front door a gust of wind blew, he shivered as the cold air touched his face. Hopefully Jonathon brought warm enough clothing, Vanoss forgot to even mention to him how bloody cold it got but he assumed he already knew because of the stereotypes. Evan basically ran to his car quickly hopping in, slamming the door behind him. He sighed in relief and whispered to himself “fuck…it’s freezing tonight”. Vanoss started up his car and turned the heating on to try and warm the car up.

Delirious was already off the plane and waiting outside. He was sitting on a bench shivering a little, he would have stayed inside but there was just to many people to handle at the moment. Jonathon had already pulled out another jacket wrapping it around him; he probably looked like an absolute idiot with two jumpers on shivering outside on a bench but he didn’t care as long as he was warmer. Jonathon took a small sip of hot chocolate he brought from the little cafeteria inside the airport. It was soon finished since he was so cold; the drink really warmed him up on the inside of course. Delirious squeezed his eyes closed as another gust of wind blew. As it stopped he rubbed them gently and opened them. After a few minutes of waiting he pulled out his phone looking down, making sure Vanoss got his message that he arrived already.

Jonathon had already forgotten about the stalker…well he didn’t forget about him, he just hadn’t thought about it for a while. He sighed and slid his phone back into his pocket, another cold breeze blew making Delirious hug himself. He remembered one way to keep you warm when in a situation like this; he started bouncing his feet up and down. He did that for a while and it eventually started to work, Jonathon looked down at his feet continuing to bounce them up and down until he heard a familiar voice right in front of him “well…well well here he is”.  He looked up and saw Evan with a grin across his face and his arms out for a hug, Delirious’s eyes widen ‘god he’s hot’ he thought to himself. Of course he saw plenty of photos of him already but he was even more attractive in real life and that fucking smile…that smile made Delirious melt inside. He quickly shook his head and smiled back jumping off his seat giving the other a small hug “haha yeah finally…” he pulled away from the other shivering again feeling the cold. “…I should have told you it was…kinda cold huh?” Vanoss laughed as he scratched the back of his neck. Jonathon shrugged “I knew it was going to be cold, I guess I just wasn’t thinking when I was packing”, Evan rolled his eyes “alright then lets get in the car it’s fucking freezing out here” Delirious nodded frantically and followed Vanoss to his car.

It wasn’t soon after that they got to the car “just hop in I’ll put this in the back” Evan gestured delirious to the passenger door as he took his suitcase. He nodded and got in the passenger side as he bucked up his seatbelt. Jonathon sighed happily, it was much warmer inside the car then outside in the snow. Vanoss soon joined him in the car smiling at him as he shut the door “why were you waiting outside?” he asked as he started the car up. “There was just to many people inside” Delirious smiled to the side slightly, Vanoss nodded “yeah I understand”. Evan was one of the few people that really got Delirious’s anxiety around larger groups of people, so at least he didn’t have to make up a stupid excuse to why he was sitting outside in the snow on a bench. It wasn’t a quiet drive home the two were chatting away and laughing together just like always but this time actually together not over Skype or the phone. They were stopped at a red light, Evan and Joanthon were laughing over some silly comment Delirious said about an old man walking his dog in the snow. They tried to calm themselves down but had no luck, soon the radio started to play one of Vanoss’s favourite songs. “shh Joanthon, this is the best song man” he smiled as he turned the radio up. Delirious rolled his eyes and started laughing uncontrollably as Evan started singing to it in an over exaggerated voice, He started to join in singing along with Vanoss even though he didn’t know the words that great which made it even funnier to the two.

Soon they arrived at Vanoss’s house; both of them were in tears. Delirious tried calming himself down as Evan wiped the tears from laughing too much off his face. He smiled looking over at Jonathon still in a fit of giggles; Evan moved closer to the other and put his finger up to his mouth “shh” he grinned. “Your laughing so loud man” Evan said as he wiped the tears off Delirious’s face. He finally calmed down blushing lightly because of how close Vanoss was to his face. Evan moved away and turned the car off  “geez…I haven’t laughed like that for a while” he sighed softly, Delirious nodded in agreement “yeah me too…thanks for…you know letting me stay at yours for a while Evan”. Vanoss looked over at him “eheh no worries Jonathon, lets head inside”. He blushed lightly again, god he wasn’t use to Vanoss calling him by his real name. Soon the two got out of the car and hurried in the house.
