'I'll be back'
Mommy was left crying at the door,
A mysterious letter arrived on the floor. On Tuesday night,
Long ago.I was only 5 years old,
I didn't know back then...How my father was so bold.
The stories, he never told.
Whenever I ask, my mother scolds.
Tears in her eyes,I've never seen her cry,
What did the letter say?...
'Why did it take my father away?'
They said he died fighting,
In a war, no one asked for.In a war, he didn't have to die for...
'Lies'
He said he'll be back,
He's not a liar.'The world doesn't work that way',
Is all they say.As they downplay, the sacrifices he made.
They don't even know his name.
