Four days ago...
The visiting area was too crowded Evan had to wait for hours until he finally got his chance to talk to Marcel. He only had ten minutes, and he made sure that he was making every second of it as useful as possible.
"Today is the day, Evan. Want me to bail you out now?"
Evan sighed to the phone while his eyes were fixed to Marcel who was holding the phone close to his ear, fingers twirling with the cord anxiously.
That day was the day when he was supposed to pop back up into Jonathan's life. He had missed him dearly, but would Jonathan reciprocate his feelings? He knew he would be forgotten after the successful – but killed one person that was Craig (for Evan, it was no one's fault, but everybody kept saying that it was Tyler's, which was unusual) – crash and a train of incidents that occured, because everyone's attempt to be convincing as hell was better than what he expected it to be. Especially David; he had put that guy in a position to make sure that Jonathan eventually fell for his nice-doing, which was the crucial part of all, and if he had fucked up (thank God he didn't), Evan would surely feed him to the bloodthirsty pig called Tyler.
Should he wait for another eight years to free himself from jail without wasting any money – and donate the money for the prison instead because the security was downright shitty – or should he bail himself out before the due date of his discharge?
"I don't know, Marcel. I'm kinda nervous," he said, propping up an arm on his elbow and raked his fingers through his black hair, "anyways, how's Jonathan?"
Marcel knitted his eyebrows in annoyance. "Damn, Evan. You are still so...you. Never care about yourself and ask about the other before you can even decide what do you want to do with yourself. I mean, just look at you!," he said, gesturing at the other's prison uniform, "you look like a die-hard fan of 'Orange is The New Black', except that you literally are the prison's inmate." Marcel paused for a while before adding, "Jonathan's okay, by the way."
Evan nodded solemnly, staring at the dangling cord mindlessly. Jonathan was fine, so Evan was doing fine too. And Evan couldn't just wait for another eight years – for your information, his actual jail sentence was ten years – to propose to Jonathan.
"Okay, you can bail me out now."
