chapter 12 ~the struggle is real~

(It's been a year after Julie's miscarriage)
(Julie and Luke stopped trying for another baby, Julie was just to scared of another miscarriage)
(It is early in the morning, and Julie and Luke are sleeping)
(Luke wakes up, because of dahlias crying)
(He gets up and walks to her room)
Luke: good morning my princess.
Dahlia: daddy daddy....
Luke: what's wrong dahlia?
Dahlia: mommy is sad!
Luke: what? Mommy isn't sad my love!
(Luke takes Dahlia in his arms)
Luke: oh little princess! Mommy isn't sad.
Dahlia: but mommy sad!
(Luke takes Dahlia in his and Julie's room)
Dahlia: mommyyy.
(Julie wakes up)
Julie: good morning my flower!
Dahlia: mommy sad
(Dahlia starts crying again)
Julie: what is wrong? Mommy is not sad anymore!
Luke: she keeps saying that!
(Dahlia hugs Julie)
Julie: oh. Dahlia.
Dahlia: me sad, mommy sad ,mommy crying
Julie: I'm not crying silly.
Dahlia: sing sing sing mommy.
(Julie sits up)
(Dahlia sits on Julie's lap, snuggles in Julie's chest)
(Julie starts singing wake up)
(Dahlia starts singing too)
(Luke starts crying)
Luke: oh beautiful!
Julie: are you crying?
Luke: no!
Dahlia: daddy sad!
Luke: I'm not sad, happy tears my princess.
Dahlia: mommy sad. daddy happy
Julie: Dahlia? Why is mommy sad?
Dahlia: no baby.
Luke: how did she-
Julie: agh Dahlia. Mommy isn't sad. Mommy is happy.
Dahlia: no. Mommy want baby.
(Julie hugs Dahlia, starts tearing up)
Dahlia: me hungry!
Julie: let's go eat some breakfast!
(A few hours later, Flynn, Reggie and noah are over to eat dinner with them)
(All sitting on the table eating)
Dahlia: mommyyyy
Julie: What's wrong dahlia?
Dahlia: mommy sadddd
(Dahlia starts crying)
Julie: shh shhh I'm not sad Dahlia. I'll bring her upstairs for a nap. She's probably just tired!
Luke: good idea. I'll get dessert ready.
Julie: thanks.
(Julie walks with dahlia in her nursery)
(Julie starts singing a good night song, while holding dahlia in her arms, rocking her around the room, dahlia is still crying)
Julie: sh shh.
(Dahlia finally falls asleep)
(Julie walks downstairs)
Luke: is she sleeping?
Julie: yes!
Reggie: Oh yeahh chocolate cake for dessert?
Luke: yess.
(A few hours later, dahlia is playing with noah on the floor)
(Julie and the others sitting on the couch, talking)
(Dahlia walks to Julie)
Dahlia: mommy baby!
Julie: what my love?
Dahlia: mommy baby!
Flynn: what? Did we miss something?
Julie: no!
Luke: she keeps saying that today.
Flynn: i thought you guys stopped trying?
Julie: we did. I don't know why she says that all the time!
Reggie: why did you guys stop trying?
Julie: uhm I'm just to scared for another miscarriage.
Flynn: what? You don't have to be scared Jules! Clearly you guys want another baby!
Luke: I told her that like 100 times!
Flynn: looks like dahlia is still remembering the day you- you know what I mean!
Julie: yeah but she is to young to figure that out right?
Flynn: i don't know.
(Few hours later, Flynn and Reggie left)
(Julie layed Dahlia to sleep, both laying in bed talking about the day)
Luke: so do you want to try for a baby again?
Julie: uhm. No i don't think so. Good night.
Luke: Jules? What's wrong?
Julie: nothing. I'm just scared.
Luke: you don't have to be.
(No response)
Luke: Julie?
(Julie asleep)
Luke: we both know that you're not asleep.
(No response)
Luke: Julie? You're not alone! I love you.
Julie: I love you too.
Luke: wanna talk about it?
Julie: not really. I'm tired let's sleep
Luke: good night
Julie: night.
(Later that night)
(Luke wakes up, because Julie is moving so much)
Luke: Julie?
(He realizes that she's dreaming)
Julie in her sleep: nooo. Why? Whyyy meee-
Luke: hey shhh.
(Julie moving)
Julie: no no no-
Luke: hey shhhh calm down.
(Julie wakes up, crying)
Luke: hey honey. Are you okay?
(Julie cuddles into Lukes chest)
Luke: shh your safe. I'm here. Shh calm down. Better now?
Julie: mhm thanks.
Luke: what's wrong my love?
Julie: just a nightmare.
Luke: you know that it wasn't your fault with the miscarriage!
Julie: I know.
Luke: you have to let it go Julie! It can happen it's nature. Don't worry. Okay? You're a wonderful woman Julie. Your body is so strong and beautiful. The miscarriage had nothing to do with you.
You're healty. It's nature. Sometimes it happens. And it sucks. But don't worry anymore. We have dahlia. I would really love to have another baby. But don't stress. Even though we tried a lot of times. And i don't know why it won't work. But it's okay. Okay?
Julie: I love you so much!
Luke: I love you too Julie!
(Luke kisses her forehead)
