"Elisha, I'm going to die," my mother said as she clutched her bleeding chest. "No, you'll be okay," I whined as I reached to press my hands to her body, using pressure to stop the blood. Why was she acting as if she was actually going to die? We just needed to get her to the hospital quick. "No," she said sternly which made my heart fall through my chest. No? "What?" I asked, getting angry with her. She was bleeding out profusely and it needed to be stopped as quick as possible. She had large claw marks penetrating her chest, raking from her shoulder to her abdomen. I'm guessing an animal had got her, but what kind of animal? I was furious.

"Listen to me Elisha-" she went to say but was interrupted by my pleading. "No. No stop. You're going to be fine! I promise you! You're not going to d-" "ELISHA!" She said loudly, making me stop crying, shocked at her reactions.

"You have to listen to me Elisha. There are things I have kept hidden from you, things you need to know before he finds you," she said which made me squint my eyes in confusion. "Mom what are you talking about?" I asked, shaking my head. She was going crazy, wasn't she? "Your father," she said which made me freeze. My father?

"Elisha. Just listen to me for a moment. No talking, just listen," she said, basically begging me to be quiet. I sighed and nodded, actually wanting to hear what she had to say. What did my dad have to do with this?

"I know I told you that your father was dead, but he's not." I flinched at her words. He wasn't dead? Why would she fucking lie? Why would she fucking lie to me! "I know you won't believe me now, but you will. Elisha, you're not exactly human," she said which made me chuckle. "Okay I think we really need to get you to the hosp-" "ELI!"

"I'm begging you to listen," she paused for a moment, tears welling up in her eyes. "When I was eighteen I met your father. At first he seemed normal. He was mysterious and dangerous and I don't know why but I was attracted to him. Well one day we were walking and he pulled me into an alley way where he- he raped me," she said, looking away from me. I didn't know how to feel. "What he did resulted in pregnancy. You. That's when I found out he wasn't human. Your father is horrible. He's a monster, Eli. He's a demon. The demon king. And - And I know you don't believe me! I know you don't! But you will, okay? You'll believe me.." She said, shifting in pain.

"Your father wanted me dead. He wanted you dead. He wanted you dead because you are his first heir to the throne but you're half human. He wouldn't allow a half human boy to rule his kingdom, but it's your title to and he can't change it. So I hid from him. I hid from him for years. I hid you for years. But he's back. He's going to kill me and I don't know what he'll do to you once i'm dead. Elisha you have to run away from here. You have to hide," She explained which made me shake my head. "I won't leave you."

"Elisha you have to!" She begged. I nodded, unable to watch her struggle in pain any longer as she begged me, wishing with her lasts breaths. "There's more," she said, her hand reaching out to hold the side of my face. "Your father is evil. Demons are evil. But you my son are not evil. Though you are half of what your father is, you will never be a monster."

"You have a dark side to you, Eli. It's a side that you can't control and it will always be trying to drag you down, to ruin your humane side. Don't let it. Don't ever let it. You have to stay strong. You're stronger than it, okay? I had a dream. A vision. A vision that I know will come true if you let it. It was of an angel, an angel who will save you from your dark side. You can be saved, and only she can save you. You have to find her," "Mom, there's no angel. You're hallucinating-" I went to say but was interrupted again.

"I'm not. Listen. I had another vision. It was a vision where you kill your father. Instead of becoming like them, you'll end their terror on humans. You're not a monster, okay? Promise me you'll always remember that. You'll never be a monster." Her words made me silent and I was about to speak until I felt a presence in the room.

I felt darkness and evil all around me. What was this feeling?

I turned around quickly, scared of what I would find. What I found when I did was a dark creature. A creature that was similar to a bear or wolf. It was growling and bearing its teeth at me. This had to be the creature that clawed my mother. There was no other animal that could've done that damage. I went to shield my mother even though she kept trying to push me away.

Suddenly the creature began to convulse and shrink, it's figure changing as it began to grow taller and thinner, resembling a body. I looked away, my mouth wide open as I turned to my mother. However when I turned around I was face to face with an eerie man, his figure was no longer across the room but instead leaning down face to face with me.

I jumped, getting frightened that the man was so close to me. His eyes were completely black as if ink had gotten into them. His arms were black as if he had dipped his hands in dye. I could see all of his dark veins and his claws were long, threatening to rip my heart out. This man wasn't a human. It was impossible. However when he spoke, he spoke exactly like a human.

"Is this Elisha?" He asked, grinning evilly ear to ear. "Y-Yes. Please do not hurt him. I beg you, Eleazar," my mother cried out. Was she right? Was her story really right? Was this my father? Was he a demon? He sure looked like one.

"Hm. I don't think I will. Though I wanted to kill the boy I think he could be of great use to me. My fucking weak son," he said as he roughly grabbed my arms, pulling me up and tossing me away from my mother. "You on the other hand I will not be sparing. You pathetic human," he said as he reached for my mothers chest, throwing his fist at her. His claws instantly penetrated her chest and I could see she was a goner when the blood started to pour from her mouth and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. I went to scream however nothing came out. I was frightened. I was angry. I felt different than I had ever felt before and all of these senses heightened when I saw the man rip my mothers heart out, holding the bloody organ in his hand.

I couldn't contain myself anymore and I started to tell, running towards him and shoving him to the ground. I quickly crawled on top of him and I grabbed onto his throat with my hands, squeezing as hard as I could as the tears poured down my cheeks. When I looked down at the man he was choking, and when I saw my hands that were wrapped around his neck I gasped, instantly throwing myself off of him. My hands were black just like his, appearing as if I had dipped them in tar. They were terrifying. I couldn't stand to look at them, my breathing growing rapid.

"That's my son!" The man said as he stood to his feet, laughing loudly. I hated this man.

"What? What did you do to me? What am I?" I asked, fearing that my mother was actually right about what she had told me.

"You're a monster."
