"Stop, it hurts," I whined, the creature in front of me squeezed my neck harder, lifting me up off the ground with one singular hand. The creatures eyes were completely black and his hands were black too, adorned with long sharp claws that were piercing my neck as he strangled me. I wanted to scream for help but I couldn't. I was going to die. This monster was going to kill me.I closed my eyes, feeling myself start to slip away when all of a sudden the monster let go, dropping me to the floor. As soon as I fell I struggled to catch my breath.
I couldn't see the figure in front of me anymore. The room was so dark and I couldn't even see a shadow. However I started to panic when I saw a dark black liquid flowing and spreading out over the floor. Blood?
I wanted to run but arms wrapped themselves around my waist, strong arms. Though I couldn't see who had their hold on me, I felt peaceful. "Shhh," the person whispered close to my ear, trying to soothe me. "I got you," he said as he placed a kiss on my shoulder, sending shivers down my spine.
Instantly I felt relieved. Him. My savior. The boy who always came to save me. "You," I said, turning to spin around and face him. However it didn't last for long. The room was dark and I couldn't make out his face but I saw his eyes, his dark gray eyes that seemed evil, but behind them there was no evil whatsoever. I went to speak when suddenly everything stopped.
I woke up breathing heavy, shooting up in bed. Why were my dreams always like this? Filled with a mystery man who never scared me. He always saved me though I never got to see his face. Just his eyes. I always woke up before I got the chance to speak to him. He was my protector but he was only a character that I had imagined. A character I created. He doesn't exist.
I shook my head, looking at the clock. It was 9:00 AM which meant I needed to be at work in an hour. Thankfully today I wouldn't be late again.
I got out of bed, going to my kitchen to make myself breakfast. I usually cooked eggs and toast in the morning. While I was making my eggs I wasn't paying close enough attention and ended up burning my wrist on the skillet, creating a red swelling mark across my skin. I hissed in pain, a tear threatening to slip down my cheek. Ow.
After holding a frozen package of peas to my wrist as I ate my eggs, I decided to get ready, going to my bathroom. When I went to use the bathroom sink to wash my face one of the handles broke off, making me groan. What a great start to the day. Ugh. Stay positive, Capri. Stay positive. I washed my face with cold water instead. At least I was woken up!
When I was finished I got dressed and brushed my teeth. I wore this golden brown suit that looked perfect against my tan skin. One thing I liked about my job is that it gave me the chance to dress up everyday. I loved clothes.
