It's been 3 days since I escaped from my ex-home and stayed here. It rained most of the time I've been here but I'm not surprised, the bugs out here are bad. The boy hasn't told me his name yet but I don't know if we even need to be on a first-name basis. "we need to eat... it's been a while." said the boy. I nodded we got up from the trees our backs were to. he reached out for my hand I took his, and we started walking. my feet really hurt I mean we didn't have shoes or anything since we just ran from that place. Just our white gowns and a haft empty plastic water bottle we found in the front office when leaving. The white color of my gown bothered me, it was pretty dirty from being here the past few days though so it was ok. I heard a branch break behind us I let go of the boy's hand and whipped around. it was a fawn. odd it wasn't with its mother I looked at the boy this could be a meal for us. He knew what I was thinking because he shook his head and took my hand again and got me to turn the back around ." there's no looking back remember? even if it's good for us." he said. I grumbled and continued to walk with him. he smiled then spoke again "so we've been together 2 nights and three days and I still down know your name." he said. "Lillian," I said bluntly. He smiled "I like that name, Im Tobias but you can call me toby." he smiled. "ok toby." I smiled for the first time in a while.
It felt nice to feel that way. we kept walking the forest smelled like due drops. we found some old rail tracks at one point and we just walked on them for a while. Until we arrived somewhere. there was a random wooden ladder on the forest floor. there was also a nearby tarp. I looked at toby and he shrugged I went over and kicked up the old ladder and tarp I set the ladder up against a tree and put the tarp over it. it wasn't pretty but was enough for now. Toby smiled at me. "good job let's sit under it it's going to rain again soon." he said. Finally, a place to rest till we needed to run again.
