"Forgive the intrusion. I mean your family no harm." Elijah explains to Elena as they walked into her bedroom.
"Why did you kill those vampires when they tried to take me?"
"I'm happy he did. Cause it was a stupid ass idea." Lex commented from their seat on the end of the bed.
"Because I didn't want you to be taken. Klaus is the most feared and hated of the Originals, but those that fear him are desperate for approval. If word gets out that the doppelgänger exists, there'll be a line of vampires eager to take you to him and I can't have that."
"Isn't that exactly what you're trying to do?"
"Let's just say that my goal is not to break the curse."
"So, what is your goal?"
"Klaus's obsession has made him paranoid. He's a recluse. He trusts only those in his immediate circle."
"Like you?"
"Not anymore."
"You don't know where he is, do you? So, you're trying to use me to draw him out."
"Well, to do that I need you to stay put and stop trying to get yourself killed."
"How do I know you're telling the truth?"
"Uh... We're not dead, maybe?!"
"If I wasn't being truthful, all your family would be dead and I'd be taking you to Klaus right now. Instead, I'm here and I'm prepared to offer you a deal."
"What kind of a deal?"
"Do nothing. Do nothing, live your life, stop fighting and then, when the time is right, you and I shall draw out Klaus together and I shall make sure your friends remain unharmed." Elijah stated as he walked towards Elena's dresser. He pauses before a photo of two identical children, one in a cheerleader's costume and the other in a hoodie and a pixie cut. "What's this?"
"That's... That's not important."
"Elena." Elijah warns. "I am not playing games. Is there another doppelgänger?"
"N-Yes." Elena stuttered after Elijah glared at her slightly.
"Where are they? Why aren't they here?"
"They left on May 23, last year."
"Left? Where are they now?"
"I..." Elena glanced out the corner of her eye at Lex, who shook their head in response. "I don't know. They just left."

"Stefan is out of the tomb now. And you guys are kissing... Break and breathe, please!" Lex commented out loud as Stefan and Elena kissed.
"You're about to ruin the moment, aren't you?" Elena asked.
"I thought I already did but okay then..." Lex retorted at their twin before scrolling through their phone.
"I'm totally ruining the moment. Look, I can't just pretend like everything is okay." Stefan stated.
"Katherine's locked away in the tomb."
"I know but we still have this pressing little issue of you being Klaus' human sacrifice."
"Yes but Elijah promised to keep me and everyone else safe as long as we play by his rules. And Lex has a plan."
"Okay... Elena... What do you mean Lex has a plan?"
"If worst comes to worse, Lex will die in the sacrifice instead of me."

"Damon. We really need to talk about Elena right now." Stefan stated as he walked up to Damon.
"About..." Damon trailed off.
"With Jeremy." Stefan retorted, knowing they could not have this conversion where they could easily be overheard.
"About their sibling?"
"Yeah."

"Why am I here?" Jeremy asked after Stefan and Damon cornered him.
"Because Elena is not coping with anything." Stefan explained to the other two.
"What do you mean?" Damon and Jeremy asked in unison.
"You know how she is Klaus' human sacrifice. She said that Lex will take her place."
"But... Lex is dead. I know! I saw their body! How the hell will they take her place?" Jeremy exclaimed.
"I don't know! But she needs to speak to someone. She's creating all these scenarios with Lex like they will happen because Lex is there."
