Chaptar 4

The Avengers aircraft lands at the Avengers tower in New York, where Barton is taken by Dr. Cho to have his wounds tended to; Maria walks up to Stark.

Maria Hill says to Tony, "Lab's all set up, boss."

Tony points to Steve. "Uh, actually, he's the boss. I just pay for everything, design everything, and make everyone look cooler."

Steve looks at him before talking, "What's the word on Strucker?"

Maria looks. "NATO's got him."

Steve turns to her. "The two enhanced?"

Maria looks at the screen. "Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Twins. Orphaned at ten when a shell collapsed their apartment building. Sokovia's had a rough history. It's nowhere special but it's on the way to everywhere special."

Tony turns to the twins, "I'm reall-" but was cut off with a shake of their head and small smiles saying that they forgave him.

Steve nods. "Their abilities?"

Maria looks at the screen again. "He's got increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Her thing is neural electric interfacing, telekinesis, and mental manipulation."

 Steve looks at her funny, and she rephrases the statement so he can understand.

"He's fast, and she's weird."

"Hey!" Came from two voices.

Steve "Well, they're going to show up again."

Maria nods at him. "Agreed. File says they volunteered for Strucker's experiments. It's nuts."

People look at the twins in disgust, causing Wanda to turn to Nat and hide in shoulder and Pietro to look away. Clint rubbed his back in comfort.

Steve thinks before he talks, "Right. What kind of monster would let a German scientist experiment on them to protect their country?"

Maria looks at him. "We're not at war, Captain."

Steve shakes his head. "They are."

Bruce looks at Barton in his lab. "How's he doing?"

Tony looks over his shoulder. "Oh, unfortunately, he's still Barton."

Bruce looks at him with mock horror. "That's terrible."

Tony talks, "He's fine. He's thirsty." Walking over to the computers."Alright. Look alive, JARVIS. It's play time. We've only got a couple of days with this joystick, so let's make the most of it. Update me on the structural and compositional analysis."

JARVIS "The sceptre is alien. There are elements I can't quantify."

Tony looks at the screen. " So there's elements you can."

JARVIS "The jewel appears to be a protective housing for something inside. Something powerful."

"If it's so powerful and maybe we should keep it here so it's protected," came the voice of the old coot with the twinkle in his eyes.

The Avengers looks at him. "The sceptre is where it should belong." Loki's voice cuts sharply in before somebody else could say anything.

Lily Potter and Molly Weasley just scoff and look at them in disbelieve "He was only trying to help,"

"Yeah, but we don't need his help for that," T'Challa says to her

Lily was about  to say something again, but James shook his head.
