*Regulus POV*

We didn't find Y/n. only her jacket was left on the forest floor, in the middle of the clearing. When Jacob found it, Mattheo had grabbed it from him and his face was like stone. I don't think I'll ever forget that look on his face.

He blames himself. He was only trying to protect her, I should have gone and found her the first time he told me to. I should have followed her after she ran out. I should have comforted her, held her if she let me. Told her it was going to be okay. But no, I gave her space and now she's missing and- and I'm worried I'll never see her again.

When we got back from our search last night I was alone in the dorm and I broke down. I couldn't help it. All I want is for her to be safe and home and in my arms or at least Mattheo's arm because at least then I'll know where she is because right now... The worry is eating me alive. And I don't even know if she's dead.

*Y/n POV*

I can't move, with each breath I take if I feel like my chest is going to give way. It's just so much effort. I'm lying on my back and the chain around my ankle is so heavy that I can't- I just can't even get up.

I couldn't even if I wanted to, I have no motivation to try. I've given up.

I haven't eaten, haven't had anything to drink, sleep is almost impossible when your this uncomfortable. I feel like a pile of bones from malnourishment. I can't tell if I want someone to find me or I want someone to put me out of my misery. I- please make it stop.

I pry my eyes open and see a tall figure in the corner of the room. I think I'm hallucinating because I didn't hear the door open. It moves closer, I'm simply too slow, too weak to respond.

As if the chain isn't there anymore, the dark stranger scoops me up as if I weighed nothing and I feel as if I'm floating. Like I'm flying.

But like I said. I'm hallucinating, or I'm dead. Could be either. I close my eyes.

* Regulus POV*

It's been two months, and Mattheo is getting into his normal sleeping pattern again. We haven't touched any of her stuff. None of it. We made her bed but that was it. We want everything to be exactly how she left it if she comes back. When she comes back.

"Here." I handed Mattheo a piece of toast I brought up from breakfast, he took it.

"Thanks Reg." He said and sat up.

"It's good you're sleeping again. I'm proud of you." I offered.

"You're not though." He opposed.

I hadn't acknowledged the dark sweeps under my eyes or the fact I'm feeling weaker by the day.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me." I smile at him, "Don't go all soft on me Mattheo." I joke and he laughs lightly.

"Cmon, we've got class and then I can teach you some more card games in the common room after potions. Sound good?" Mattheo offered and I nodded. He moved to the bathroom and shut the door behind him. Mattheo and I are good friends now. We had to be, I think we would be so much worse if we didn't have each other. We both missed her so much. Every day.

3 months later.

Mattheo and I were brought to Dumbledore's office, we sat their anxiously.

"Ah hello my boys." He greeted.

"Professor." We said in unison.

"I brought you both here to tell that we, I'm not sure how to put this... We found something yesterday in the forbidden forest." he began but we cut him off after he finished his sentence.

"Is it Y/n?"

"Is she alright?"

"I'm sorry, but all we found was an old cabin a two miles from here. It's abandoned but behind a bookcase was a set of stairs leading down to a basement. In the corner was a set of chains attached to a pole." Mattheo and I sat listening, silent. "We came to the conclusion, based on the amount of scratches on the floor, whoever was held there. It was against their will."

"Do we know if it was her, can you find her?" Mattheo asks hopefully, I can't stop looking at the floor. I can't look this man in the eye.

"There was traces of blood in the shackle, and it matches Y/n." He says and my heart beat is through the roof.

"Can we find her, there must be a way to track her, she's under 17." Mattheo explains.

"She was hurt? How much blood was there?" I ask softley and Dumbledore looks from Mattheo to me.

"Only a little Mr Black, it wasn't a fatal injury."

"So she's alive?"

"I'm afraid we don't know. She's no longer in the cabin at all. We searched the entire premises. If she's alive, she's still missing."

She's alive, god I hope she's alive.
