(Lou's POV)

I was walking to Y/N's house, the sun was close to setting but not quite there. I had just the right amount of time. Y/N was sitting on their porch, waiting for me. Once they saw they jumped up and ran up to me. They were holding their phone with a pair of purple wired headphones. "Lou!" They gave me that amazing bright smile of theirs. "You ready?" I asked. They nodded. "Alright, lets go." I had brought a pink blanket with blue spots for us to sit on. We reached a tall but not to tall empty building. "Why are we here?" Y/N asked. "You'll see!" I smiled. I softly grabbed their hand and pulled them around to the back, where there was a wooden platform attached to a rope that lead to the top. we stepped on. "Hold on." I said, pulling the rope. the platform began to move upwards and I felt Y/N shuffle closer. They stared in awe at the sky moving past, their E/C eyes sparkled in a way that was to beautiful to be real. once the platform stopped we stepped off onto the top of building. I began to place down the blanket on an elevated platform when I heard Y/N say. "Is this why you brought me here?" I looked up and saw them leaning on the ledge of the building, staring at the sunset and its reflection on the water.

(Your POV)

I placed my phone on the ledge of the building and leaned on it as Lou set up the blanket. The sunset was a crisp orange color fading into gorgeous reds and yellows. Those same colors reflected off of the once clear and vast water below. "Is this why you brought me here?" I asked. Lou turned to me. "What?" I gestured to the sky as he walked closer. "Oh, yea... I thought you would enjoy it." he sighed softly, leaning next to me. "I do, its one of the most stunning things I've ever seen!" "One of? what are the others?" Lou asked, leading me back to the blanket, witch sat on an elevated platform that made it almost level with the ledge so we could still see everything. "Well, that one firework show we had was amazing! So there's that." I smiled, sitting down. "What about you?" Lou was quiet for a moment, he just stared at the sunset. "Well there's one thing, one thing that is so stunning in an unreal way" he said softly. "What is it?" I asked excitedly. then he turned to me. "You." He smiled softly. He looked at me in a way nobody's ever looked at me before. Just then, all at once, I was overwhelmed with this odd emotion, one of which I had never felt.

The sunset lit up his face perfectly, his eyes were the brightest shade and most remarkable shade of blue I've ever seen, his hair looked so soft and his face was a soft rosy color. I felt my face heat up and heartbeat increase. "Thank you..." I finally managed to speak. "Its the truth." He said. We talked for a while longer when I remembered that I needed to tell Lou about what happened earlier. "Lou?" I said. "Yea?" he responded. "I have something to say...it's sort of important..." "Go ahead." Fiddlesticks...how do I even start?? I thought. I took a very deep breath. I was much more nervous then I thought I would be, I was at a loss for breath but yet it felt like I had to much, my hands were shaking and my heart pounded. What if he got mad at me? What if he said no? I took another breath Now or never Y/N... "Y/N? Are you-" "EARLIER I WAS WALKING WITH MANDY NOLAN AND MOXY AND I WAVED AT YOU BUT THEY NOTICED AND ASKED ME I HAD WAS HANGING OUT WITH YOU AND I DIDNT WANT TO LIE TO THEM SO I TOLD THEM THAT WE WERE FRIENDS BUT THEY DONT CARE AND I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WANTED TO HANG OUT WITH US SOMETIME?!" I blurted out. I was so sure that he would say no and just leave, and for some reason I was scared?

There were tears forming in the corners of my eyes from how scared I was. Lou didn't say anything, but then I felt his hand on my shoulder and looked up at him. To my surprise, he didn't look upset at all! He was...smiling? "Id love to." "Really?" My voice was more shaky then I expected. He nodded. "Your not upset I told them?" I asked, calming down a bit. "Not really, I needed to apologize to them anyways." That's when I think he noticed how worked up I got. "Are you okay?"

(Lou's POV)

I noticed that Y/N's voice was shaky. Their hands and practically whole body were too. There were even tears forming in the corners of their eyes. "Are you okay?" I asked, concerned. They nodded and one of the tears began to roll down their face. "I was just really scared you would be mad at me." They said, smiling softly. "Why would I be mad at you?" I asked, wiping their tears with my jacket sleeve. "I don't know, it just felt so important that nobody knows." They pulled their phone from out behind them. "Music?" They waved their phone around and then scrambled to grab the waving headphones. I nodded. "Sure!" They opened the phone and pulled up Spotify. "What kind of music do you like?" Y/N asked as I took one of the earbuds. "It doesn't matter to me, you can pick whatever you like." I placed the earbud in my ear. "I'm sure you have great taste..." I mumbled. "Alright then! Ill just shuffle my playlist." They smiled, clicking the button and taking the earbuds. As the first song began I couldn't help but stare at Y/N as they happily bopped their head along to the music. How could someone be so kind, loving, beautiful and compassionate all at once? Y/N seemed like a character straight out of a story. They seemed like that one character everybody loves because they're just so loveable. That one character that you wish was real because you couldn't live without them. But, Y/N was real, and they were right here with me.

I was the luckiest person in the world. I don't know how long I watched them for, but I was snapped out of my daze by a soft voice next to me. "Now in it's place is something new, I hear it when I look at you..." Y/N quietly singing along to the song playing in the earbuds. I hadn't heard the song before but it sounded pretty good, especially with Y/N's voice. I checked the phone to see what the song was called. "I Hear a Symphony" it said. I sat back and listened to Y/N sing quietly. "With simple songs I wanted more, perfection is so quick to bore..." They must have started forgetting I was there as they got slightly louder. "You are more beautiful by far, our flaws are who we really are..." They opened their eyes and stared off into the vast night sky, the reflection of the stars twinkling inside their dazzling eyes. I have to admit, this song was quite fascinating. "You took my broken melody..." Y/N went on. "And now I hear a symphony..." Their voice was angelic and noticeably louder. As the song ended they finished it off with: "And now I hear..." "A symphony..." I paused the next song to see how long it would take for them to turn around and realize I was here. They sat there and waited for the next song to start.

(Your POV)

I sat and waited for the next song to start, as I watched the stars flicker in the night sky. When it didn't, I turned around to see Lou sitting there, holding my paused phone in his hand. "Nice singing Y/N" he smirked. I froze up in embarrassment and my whole face went beet red so I was thankful it was dark. "Oh! I..Umm..." I tried to force out, you know, actual words. But unfortunately, I was too flustered to manage that. I buried my face into my hands. "I...I completely forgot you were here!!!" I managed to say. "I'm such an idiot..." I muttered into my palms. "Its alright, I quite enjoyed it." I heard Lou say. I peeked through my fingers and saw him laughing at me. "Are you laughing at me!!" I yelled. He toppled over laughing as I shouted at him. About half an hour passed after that. The sky got darker but we remained on the roof, having the greatest time together. We talked, listening to more music, and even did karaoke a few times. I don't think I ever had so much fun with another person before. Lou was actually really nice and fun to be around, we even shared some interests! After a while we were talking about books and I began to shiver quite a bit. I had only worn a light green T-shirt because I didn't realize how long I would be up here, and the nights could get cold here in Perfection sometimes.

It was one of those nights where its not very cold but still chilly enough to give you goosebumps. I continued talking even though my teeth chattered between breaths. I was looking into the sky, watching more and more stars show up as I ranted about a book I was reading at the time. Just then, I felt something placed on my shoulders. I looked over and saw that Lou had taken off his jacket and given it to me! "Wont you get cold?" "I'll be fine." Lou responded. "Are you sure?" I asked, starting to feel bad. "I'm sure I'll be alright." The blonde said. I scooted closer and placed my head on his shoulder. "Whatever you say, Blondie."
