You walked to class slowly, but once the bell rang you started to race to your first class, biology. Ugh! Being fashionably late in New York was acceptable, but in Toronto, it wasn't? At least that's what you were told. You kept running until-

"Ugh, watch it!" You yelled impulsively. Quickly, you remembered that was rude and made an improvised comment.

"Oh, I'm sorry, um-" You blushed really hard out of embarrassment, and looked up to see a ginger-haired girl.

"No, it's okay!" The ginger-haired girl replied.

"I haven't seen you here before, are you new?" The girl questioned.

"Yeah, I am." You responded quickly, but the girl had words that dodged bullets.

"Cool! I'm Meilin, but you can call me Mei!" Mei exclaimed excitedly.

"{Y/N}." You say softly.

She looked you up and down and spotted your 4*Town shirt.

"You're a 4*Townie?" Mei shrieked, whilst covering her mouth.

"Mhm!" you replied, now full-on engaged in the convo.

"Me and my friends love 4*Town. You should meet them! Maybe you can sit with us at lunch!" Mei suggested. ou nodded to that and she squealed.

"By the way, what class are you going to?" She queried whilst pushing up her glasses. You grabbed your folded schedule paper out of your pocket.

"Biology," You answered gently, and her eyes widened.

"I have history, next to the biology room, and by the way, biology is that way." Mei pointed to the west wing of the school. We started walking together and chatting about random topics. Once we reached the biology room, she whispered:

"Best of luck. The kids in there are really rude."

Well, now you were really worried. Back in New York, you were respected for having excellent fashion sense, and great music taste, but what if kids here were different? Whatever, you came from fucking New York, show those slow bitches where respect comes from. You calmed yourself down and entered the room. You looked around and walked in, scanning the room.

Not fancy, but not bad either. Looks normal to me. The teacher noticed you and remembered.

"Ah yes, our new student, {Y/N}. Transferred here from New York!" The teacher exclaimed. The students oohed and you gave a one-sided smile.

"{Y/N}, please introduce yourself to the class." The teacher added and sat back down at her desk. You clutched your backpack and looked awkwardly at the class. You took a deep breath in and started.

"My name is {Y/N}, and I transferred here from New York..." You trailed off as you focused on tapping your foot. Before you were going to say something else, another kid interrupted you.

"Is that a 4*Town shirt? Some New Yorker!" The kid cackled, and something inside you broke. You were not going to let these brainless apes disrespect your state like that. Especially when theirs wasn't any better!

"Well, I'll tell you something, you." You pointed to the kid who made the remark, and everyone turned to him, making him uncomfortable.

"If you had good music taste, you'd understand that 4*Townies are people to respect. But I really can't blame you. Living in a place like this, who would?" You remarked, and everyone oohed.

"By the way, New York is a place to respect. Next time, please do not underestimate us." You said sternly and stopped talking. The teacher motioned you to go sit next to this curly-haired guy. You followed instructions, and you did.

You couldn't stop staring at your classmate, and you wondered why. You felt this tingly feeling, and you prepared for the worst. You had never had a crush before, so this is probably why.

Something about him made you instantly drawn. His sharp jawline, his basketball jersey, his glossy curls, and his hazel eyes. He noticed and turned to you.

"Hey, new girl, don't disrespect Toronto like that." He announced firmly whilst giving you a sharp gaze and you did the same.

"I have a name." You replied sarcastically, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't care. Don't disrespect Toronto like that, clear?" The kid barked, and you bit your lip.

"Mm, why not? I mean, look at this dump. New York is way better. Don't you wish you could move out of here?" You responded again, but he disagreed.

"No. I like it here. And Toronto is not a dump, and we are worthy of being respected as well." He replied in annoyance, but he fell into your trap.

"Prove it to me."

He looked at you with slightly widened eyes and a confused expression.

"What do you mean-"

"I said what I said. Prove it to me, or how else will I know that the residents of Toronto are worthy of being respected?" You slowly answered with a smirk.

He looked at you and you looked at him for a while.

"Fine, I will. The name's Tyler, by the way." Tyler muttered, and you picked up your book.

"Okay," you mumbled back, and started reading. You felt his eyes on you a couple of times, but you were used to it.

Back in New York, if you pissed someone off, or annoy them, they would look at you up and down and give you a nasty glare. Fortunately, it doesn't work on you, because you're so damn used to it all the time.

But you got this sinking feeling that both of you would be interacting with one another very soon.

And you also had the feeling that the both of you were two very different people.

hope you enjoyed.
