Today is the day, the anniversary of my parents death. But I'm not going to cry over people I barely even remember. So I get ready and eat breakfast. "By nonna, bye nonno." I waved. "Oh, sweetie, are you sure you want to go to school today?" My nonna asked. "Yes, I'm fine. I love you." I said and left.

When I got to school I decided to go to Veronica's locker instead. I saw her and Leo talking about god knows what. "Hey." I waved to them as I came closer. "Hi." They both said at the exact same time. "Why do I feel like something different is going on between you guys?" I asked confused. "Well.." Veronica started but then looked at Leo. "I asked her to be my girlfriend a few days ago." He smiled. "Oh my god!" I squealed. "Really? Ah I'm so happy for you two! Oh that makes so much sense now!" I hugged them both. "And I thought you guys would be the ones to date." Veronica scoffed and Leo kissed her. "Cuties." I smiled at them.

Hours passed, slowly, and I haven't even seen Ethan today. What's up with that? Now i'm headed to history, a class I have with Ethan. But also with Victoria, Thomas and Leo. Oh well. At least I'll get to see him.

I walked into class and sat down in my seat. I was the first one there so I was just watching as students filled the classroom. The gossip about me toned down quite a bit recently, I don't know how, but I'm very grateful it happened. Eventually, the classroom was full and the teacher began teaching.

We didn't get very far into the lesson when the class phone rang. When the teacher went to answer it, all the students went on their phones, but I didn't. I just looked outside the window, Ethan seemed to notice this and he smiled at me, so I smiled back. He looked really good today. He had his long, black hair tied into a low bun. Lord help me.

"Emilia?" I got snapped out of my thoughts by the teacher calling me. "Hm? Yea?" I answered as my face turned red, this is the second time the teacher caught me off guard, thinking about Ethan. "Your father is here, you're going home." He said and I laughed. "I'm serious, Emilia." He tapped his foot on the floor and I rolled my eyes, annoyed. "In case you forgot, both of my parents are dead. So I don't know who the hell is here to pick me up, but it sure isn't my father." I told him and turned back around, facing a worried Leo and Thomas. "Emilia. Office. Now." He yelled and I rolled my eyes again and got up out of my seat and left. What a dick.

I went towards the office and sat down next to my principal. "Why are you here, Emilia?" The old guy sitting in his desk pulled down his glasses and looked at me. "My teacher told me my dad is here to pick me up, but I told him that's not possible and now I'm here." I told him. "Ah, my mistake, sorry. It seems your uncle is here to pick you up." He smiled, but before I could say anything he pushed me out of his office towards my Zio. He was standing there, with his ungroomed beard and unbuttoned plaid shirt with jeans, smiling. Why does this man always have a god damn smirk of his face?

"Hello, niece." He grinned and took me by the arm, dragging me towards his car. "He-" He cut me off by putting his hand around my mouth. His other hand was around my wrist so tight, it felt like it was going to fall off. As we got closer to his car he pulled his hand away from my face, but still kept a firm grip on my wrist. "Ouch, stop. Let me go!" I squirmed. "Never. No one can save you now." He smiled and shoved me into the passenger seat of his car.
