There was nothing longer than the trip from King's Cross station to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Although the Qudditch World Cup would last multiple days (maybe even weeks), it still didn't change the fact that the train to Scotland would still drag in for what felt like forever.

Luckily, the four boys that call themselves the Marauders were able to get a compartment every year with no trouble. This was easy for them because they were either respected by other students or the fact they were also scared of their pranks. So their privacy was always insured when on the Hogwarts Express.

Today they were all excited to come to the train, but they were all now sitting with concerned faces. The last member of their group wasn't with them and no where to be found on the train. They didn't know she just missed the train by a second so they could only believe in the worst.

"What if a muggle kidnapped her and held her up for witch trial?" A stubby little boy named, Peter wondered allowed. "I've read that they do that you know? Take witches and burn them for their magic!"

"They don't do that anymore Pete," another boy with a much leaner physique assured his friend. He leant up against the train's wall having a small book by his side. "Besides, those people weren't actually witches like us. Just any woman who was different from their perfect version of what they should be like." This still Peter didn't stop worrying for River.

"He may be on to something though," the last boy with well cared for black hair said adjusting his legs on Remus's lap. "Riv could've fell into the train tracks?" The stout blonde gasped. "And survived! And survived, but stuck down there and the muggles had to make a human rope." Remus groaned throwing his head back. Was he the only one that believe their friend was fine?

Walking up to the door was the last male member of the group, James Potter, who was already using his Head Boy abilities to his advantage. He had been through every corridor of the train to see if he could find his best friend. Not what he would call her out loud for the sake of Sirius's ego, but it was true. He loved her with all his heart that it hurt more than Lily Evans ever denying him for a date.

"Please tell me you found her to shut these two up?" Remus begged his friend.

"She's no where on this bloody train!" James said in exasperation. "Even Thing 1 and 2 don't know where she went." Thing 1 and 2 being Ambrose and Cordelia. "She must of missed it. Damn I knew I should've picked her up."

"You couldn't have done anything about it," Sirius tells his mate. "Let's just hope she wasn't eaten by a werewolf on her a way here." This ticked off Remus and made him attempt murder by choking. He had his hands around Sirius's throat hovering over him."Oh stop it Moony, not in front of everyone."

"I hate you, you do know that right?" He only got a smirk which made him roll his eyes. When Remus got off of Sirius, James was basically pacing the small compartment.

"Will she be allowed to come to Hogwarts since she missed the train?" He added to the previous wonder where River was. "Is there even a way to get through their without apparition? I mean she's pretty smart-"

In the hall there was a sound of the crack of lighting and followed by multiple thuds to ground like someone knocked over the Trolley's Witch's cart. "Mother Merlin's balls!" A loud voice in the hall bellowed. All four boys got up from their seats and looked out their door. "Apparation is a fucking cunt bitch! Ruined my damn muffins!"

It was River Feign.

James, Sirius, Peter, and Remus ran to their friend sprawled on the floor with her luggage next to her. They all stood in a circle around her looking down at the girl. "Hello there boys," she greets with a grin. James gave her a hand up and was the first to give her a hug. If we're speaking metaphorically both of their hearts felt like they just exploded into fireworks once they touched. Nothing could ever compare to a James and River reunion whether it's from days to months.

When they let go she adjusted his silver badge on his Gryffindor robes. "Aw Jamsie, look at you with your Head Bitch pin," she complimented sarcastically scrunching her nose.

"Shut up love," he said pushing her into Sirius who gave the tightest back hug she ever received. Her spine felt ready to snap in half like she was dropped from a ten story building.

"Really gave us a scare Rivo," Sirius tells the girl spinning her around to face him. "Wormy here really thought you were to be burned on a pyre by muggle insurrectionists."

River scrunched her nose looking at her blonde friend. "Is it true? You were worried about me Wormtail?" Peter blushed in embarrassment looking down at his feet. River only smiled ruffling through his dirty blonde hair. "Oh and Remus," she starts to say holding out a box of chocolate chip muffins. "Mum says hi."

Remus took the box ignoring the fact half the muffins were squished from the fall. "So I take it you still need apparation lessons," he asks sarcastically.

"And after I give you muffins," River says. Around the group people were starting to look outside their own compartment to see what was going. They weren't surprised to see the Marauders at all. "Alright I need to hear how you all spent your holiday without me. The only one of you dipshits who actually wrote was Prongs over here."

River picked her trunk with help from Remus. All five of them walked away with the two holding the trunk in front. "Suck up," Sirius muttered about his friend.
