After Hedwig died Ron and Hermione dug around in all their stuff to see if they could find any feathers that mightve dropped and made a dream catcher for Harry, Ron was confused because he's never seen one before but Hermione explained it. Ron didn't believe her but since Harry and Hermione were raised by muggles Ron went along with it
