It's been a few days since me and Roman have met. He's been around almost every day. I've seen him more than I would like, so I've been holed up in my room.
"Alison, I'm going to pop to the shop, do you want anything?" I hear my mom shout up the stairs.
I open my door. "No thanks!" I shout back. I hear the door shut and then get locked. After about 5 minutes, I get thirsty, so I go to get a glass of water. When I walk into the kitchen, I see him, I see Roman setting the table. I give him an awkward smile and walk to the sink, I grab a glass from the cabinet and fill it up. As I'm about to go back to my room, I hear Roman say something to me, I cringe at the fact that this now means I need to talk to him.
"What was that? Sorry I didn't hear you," I give an awkward laugh.
He clears his throat quietly. "Nothing."
I feel pure embarrassment when I realize he wasn't talking to me. I turn around and begin to walk off."Uh, Alison, is it?" He says awkwardly, putting the white plates in an L shape on top of the golden silk tablecloth.
I get butterflies in my stomach, the way he says my name... Damn.
"Yeah," I smile.
"How old are you, Alison?" He says as he puts the last plate down.
I slightly smile again as he says my name. "17, how about you?" I ask as I take a sip of water because of how dry my throat is from the nervousness of speaking to him.
"22," He looks embarrassed, and I choke on my water and then force it down.
"Sorry- 22?"
"Yep, 23 in October," He chuckles awkwardly.
Holy shit I think, he's literally closer to my age than my own moms."Wow, you're really young. So, how come you're going out with my mom?" I sit down in the seat across from the other 2 where the other plates are and rest my arms on the table crossing them.
"Well, she's a really good dancer," He says as he pops some champagne. "She can take my humour better than most people," He grabs mine and his glasses. "She has really good taste in clothes," He fills up both our glasses with champagne and places the bottle on the table. "She's hot," He leans over the table towards me. "Clearly you get your looks from her," He winks and then smirks.
My eyes widen. "You're going red, hunny," I can feel his warm breath on my skin, which instantly warms my face up.
I down the whole glass of champagne, put it back on the table, and give Roman a look of embarrassment before going to my room. I hear him let out a small chuckle.I go to my room and don't bother shutting my door, I fall down onto my bed then close my eyes, hoping to fall asleep, and then wake up only when lunch is ready.
After what feels like an hour, I feel a presence beside me, and then I feel a weight on my bed beside my legs. I spring up to see Roman sitting there staring at me.
"Roman what the hell? You scared me," I frown.
"Sorry," He looks away.
"What are you doing in my room?" I sit up facing him.
"I'm bored," He pouts at me.
"Watch TV, downstairs," I make the downstairs part clear.
He gets up and leaves, shutting my room behind him without looking back.
"Weirdo." I mutter to myself. After 8 minutes, my mom returns home.
"I'm home!"
Finally I think to myself.I go downstairs to see my mom and Roman making out.
"Sorry," I turn around about to walk out."No stay, we're sorry," says mom. "Ooh, is this champagne?" She sits down diagonally from my plate.
"Yep," Says Roman, cutting the potatoes. After a few hours of watching TV in my room, lunch is finally ready.
Cottage pie, I don't hate it, but I don't love it.
"Yum, cottage pie," I say with sarcasm in my voice.
"Hey, enough of the sarcasm Ali," Roman says as he brings the rectangular glass bowl of cottage pie and a massive spoon to the table.
"I didn't know you two are on nickname terms," Says mom.
"Me neither," I say quietly, but loud enough for them both to hear.
