"Hi Sally," Lightning said. "Hi," she told him without looking.
"Look, I'm sorry about last night. You look stunning, with or without a makeover. But you looked like a drag queen," he told her.
"Lightning, that's irrelevant," she told him, still not looking at him. "Look, if you like Francesco, just be with him, see if I care," he sighed.
"Oh, I see what this is all about. You lost interest in me, so now you don't care if another guy takes me? I can't believe you, Lightning!" Sally cried.
"No!" Lightning protested. "I never hated you, Sal- You were always my girl. It's just that day you kind of scared me... with your makeup" he told her. "Well, scaring is my specialty," she said all flirty like, batting her eyes at him.
"Uhhh, right," he said awkwardly. "About that," he rubbed his tires worriedly.
"What, what is it?" she asked him. "I'm in love with-"
"Francesco," Sally finished his sentence. "What?! I like him just as a friend" Lightning yelled.
"Oh come on, don't cap with me. You know you like him and so does he. I mean you're perfect for each other," Sally told him.
"I'm straight!" he defended himself.
"Oh yeah, right," Sally chortled at his hard to believe statement.
"It's not like we've been spending time with each other, anyways, with your damn paperwork all the time!" Lightning asserted.
"Well, if I don't do my job, we'll have to close down the Cozy Cone Motel, and where do we all sleep? The impound," she informed Lightning. "Oh brother," Lightning rolled his eyes.
"Francesco is just a friend-" Lightning said. "Mhmmm," Sally said, kissing his cheek.
Lightning backed away. "Why did you even kiss Francesco? If you don't like him romantically?" he asked her. "To make you say sorry for behaving so damn complicated with me!" Sally bursted out crying."Ok, come here," Lightning tried to comfort Sally. "I'm sorry, you're just more beautiful without extra drag queen makeup," he told her. "Oh, so I look ugly with makeup?" Sally grimaced.
"No! I never said that... I-" Lightning looked at her like she was difficult. "Y'know what, you look great with makeup, just apply it in a - you know less drag queen kinda look," he told her.
"Okay," Sally said. "Close your eyes," he demanded her. "Alright..." she said, playing along with him. He kissed her lips. The soft touch of his tender lips made her crisp.
"I'mma sleep alone for tonight," Sally smiled. "Good night, Lightning," she drove off a little stressed.
"Okay..." he said, sighing, feeling lonely.
He then saw Francesco and invited him over to his cone #1.
They were having a sleepover.
"Ah, this is so nice just me and you," Francesco told him. "I know right," Lightning agreed, eating popcorn and sharing the bucket with him. Their tires met when they tried to grab the popcorn.
For some reason Lightning felt warm with Francesco.
Meanwhile, Sally was back at her office, and called Mia, Tia, Lizzie, and Flo over for her own sleepover. She knew Francesco was in Lightning's cone.
She was so tempted to spy on them. Whatever they could be doing, she was sure it wasn't fully legal.
