Indian epics frequently provides us with stories that are not only educational, but also timeless and relevant in every era. This is the tale of Bhishma Pitamah. His life is a shining example of selfless service, fidelity, and paropakara (sacrificing one's own life for the benefit of others). One of the most important characters in Jaya (Mahabharata), his legend tells us about his immense intellect and teaches us how to follow the path of Dharma in our own lives, regardless of all the wrong and injustice we may face along the way.
