My Love for You

Due to some urging from my friend, I decided to make a short sequel to the previous chapter. I hope you like it!

Several years later

"Everyone, thank you for being here today. I'm feeling a mix of emotions right now. I'm nervous, yet confident; overwhelmed, yet strong. Honestly speaking, I would never have imagined being here several years ago.

"I guess it all began that one summer day.  Takemichi and I went to the bookstore together. I really didn't want to go that day, but, well, Takemichi forced me to go. He promised he'd buy ice cream, and I did have a book to buy, so I decided to go along. That decision changed my life forever.

"At that bookstore, I saw you, my angel. The way the sunlight shone on you as you strained to reach a book...it was an unforgettable sight. I fell in love with you at first sight. I just knew you were the one for me.

"As I got to know you more, I fell deeper and deeper in love. The slightly rough way you had...it was the cover fora kind heart. The boyish appearance that you had...it was to hide your insecurity. You sealed it all away under a pretense.

"It was those hidden things that I wanted to protect. I wanted to protect that frail you that no one else knew of. I wanted to be someone who you could rely on no matter what happened. I wanted to wipe away those tears you secretly shed.

"To be honest, it was difficult to do all that. After all, cracking open the seal around your heart wasn't the easiest thing in the world. And your parents weren't exactly the most pleased about me liking you. Losing their son had hurt their daughter enough; losing another precious person might thoroughly break her down.

"But yet, even though I knew I could hurt you, I still wanted you.  But...your happiness came first. I asked you if you were fine with dating me even if I was a delinquent who could die, just like her brother did. You told me to wait a bit, wait until you had come to terms with yourself. And...I waited; I waited until you came to me one day. 'Chifuyu,' you said. 'I think, I think I love you.'

"I rejoiced when I heard those words! My waiting had not been in vain. And I could have waited many more years if it meant that you would say those words to me.

"Chinatsu, thank you for being a part of my world. Thank you for being at that bookstore, and thank you for letting me love you. I want you to remember this forever: I'll always be here for you."

Chifuyu left the podium amid applause from the guests. He took his seat next to Chinatsu and squeezed her hand.

"Hey, how does becoming Matsuno Chinatsu feel like?"

I honestly have NO idea what a wedding speech is supposed to be like😭. I just wrote something to explain his love a bit and then a bit of what I'd like to hear if I ever get married.
