"Friends and Cadets, it's time for the biggest award." The delightful voice of a lady echoed in the grassland. Where the function was held.
"ROK cadet of the year!" The lady, who stood in front of a mic said. Soon, waves of claps could be heard.
"I would like to call Ms Jennie Kim on the stage." The lady said again and flashed a very charming smile.
A girl, aged around 18 years beamed towards the handful of people on the stage surrounded by 100s of female Cadets. Feeling as proud as ever. As she was walking her way towards the stage the announcer said,
"She is the Granddaughter of The Chief Of Staff Kim Ha-Joon." She said, continuing her words, "Niece of martyr Captain Kim Min-Jun."
"She is the daughter of Colonel Kim Jung-Hoon." By this moment, Jennie already surpassed the step on the stage.
"Not only she made her family proud but as well as the nation by triumphing over this award"
There stood a man, almost 7 feet tall wearing the Uniform and a cap. Other men on the stage wore the Uniform too, standing steadily.
'Finally, the moment I've been waiting for' Jennie thought.
But, Jennie was supposed to be awarded a medal, right? Instead, she saw the man in front of her giving her an alarm clock.
Her smile vanished. She suddenly got disappointed and frowned.
"No, I don't want an alarm clock!" Jennie shook her head and pursed her lips.
"This is your medal."
*beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*
This was all that made Jennie wake up from her slumber.
"What?! Darn it!" She sighed. Disgruntled that this wasn't the reality.
Sighing for the second time, she got out of her bunk bed. Stretched a little while she cutely yawned. She flicked the light switch on. And straight went to another beauty lying on the top of their bunk bed.
"Hey Pasta! Get up!"
The girl whose name was Pasta groaned. Facing the other side, disobeying her sister.
Jennie shook her head seeing her sister still asleep.
After all the tries of waking her sister up, she finally gave up and went straight to the bathroom to take a quick shower to release the drowsiness on her body.
After taking a quick but needy shower, she went to their shared bunk bed again and tapped her sister's arm to wake her up,
"Hey sleepyhead, don't you wanna go on a walk?" She asked the beauty.
The said girl groaned again and got up a little saying, "I don't prefer to go on a walk... I sprained my ankle and I am in a need of some food, not a walk!"
Jennie walked away from her sister, opening their windows to allow natural sunlight to enter their room, "No one can say that you belong to an Army Family, Pasta. You're such a social media queen."
The girl named pasta rolled her eyes at the confession of her dearly sister.
"You know that dad will be home today, and by the way... I saw the same dream aga-"
Before she could finish herself, her sister cut her,"Holy avocados, can you quit it already?! I know that you dream about the same thing every day," The tall beauty said.
"You should dream that you're in a mall, with 80% discount on various foods,"
Jennie already knew what will be the next thing her sister will utter.
"-and some handsome cute boys."
"No Chaeyoung! This is not my dream, why don't you understand?" Jennie snapped at her sister, Chaeyoung.
This was not Jennie wanted. Her aim was the do everything she can do for her country. Making her father proud as well as her family. She was sure that she won't let anyone come in her way.
Chaeyoung, being used to her sister's sudden snapping said, "Okay-okay, chill I was just kidding." As she let out a nervous chuckle from her luscious lips.
"I want to do something big, make my country proud. I want people to say, 'Is she the granddaughter of Kim Ha-Joon or the niece of martyr Kim Min-Jun' like that"
"Ne, you're right sis," Chaeyoung said as she walked to her sister's side of the bed and laid down.
"And this will not happen if you just lay down and-" She said steadily crossing her arms over her chest but Chaeyoung cut her,
"I'll dream about everything you said sis, let me sleep now, bye," Chaeyoung said and she snoozed again.
Jennie shook her head for the nth time and went down the stairs, spotting her one and only grandfather reading the newspaper.
"Good morning grandpa," she said as she kissed the cheek of Cheif Of Staff, Kim Ha-Joon.
"Good morning, sweetie. Go wake up your mother. This is a big day for her, and she has to do a lot of things, hmm?" He said, despite his age, she still looked handsome as ever.
"Ne!" Jennie said as she went to her mother, whilst her grandfather went outside of the house if spot their butler sleeping against the stone pillar,
"Hanbin," The man didn't wake up, "Hanbin!" This time, he shouted, which made their Butler Hanbin wake up abruptly.
"Y-Yes!" Hanbin said, despite the somnolence.
Her grandfather said, "You should be doing work now!" As he walked away.
On the other hand, Jennie entered her mother's bedroom to spot her arranging the wardrobe.
"Eomma! What are you up so early?! You had a migraine last night, right?"
"Yes I did, Jen. But I am good now, and I also have to prepare for your father,"
"Hmm, father... Someone's blushing?" Jennie teased her own mother.
"Jennie!" Her mother said, with blushing cheeks.
"Anyways, I am going for a walk, need anything?" A smirk was slowly finding its way on her elegant face.
"No, just the usual?" The mother said, forgetting something.
"Okay... Bye," Jennie said not removing her smirk,
"Hey Jen, can you please buy Valingtons bakery-"
"Yes I know, Valigntons bakeries, special blueberry cakes. Father loves it" She said as she went for a walk, to meet her grandfather watching the workers shift furniture in the house next to them.
"Hmm, I hope they're not civilians," as he said that, someone shouted,
"Hey you idiot, what are you doing! Use your bloody damn eyes!" One of the workers shouted.
"Aish, Civilians..." They both said in unison, as they went jogging.
