Long fingers slowly combed through Bdubs' hair, gently massaging his scalp. He and Doc were sitting on the couch, he was with his back pressed against the hybrid's broad chest, a comfortable silence hung in the air around them as the last specks of the late evening sun's light shone through the open window, letting cool air into the room from outside.

He glanced over his shoulder, feeling a soft smile tug at his lips; his boyfriend looked so adorable, all snuggled up under a mountain of blankets, his face all soft and content, eyes bright and happy.

"You're really pretty, you know that?" the short brunette whispered calmly, allowing a quiet giggle to slip past his lips once he noticed Doc's face flush pink just a slight bit.

"Uh, I-, thank you," the taller male stuttered out, his face growing ever warmer from the sudden compliment. "Y-you're pretty too..." he added after a moment, watching the shorter's smile widen and his eyes crinkle from happiness.

They fell into a comfortable silence once more. Doc drew his hands from Bdubs' hair to wrap them around his torso instead. The smaller, seemingly delighted by this action, nestled himself closer to the hybrid, enjoying the love and affection given to him. The warmth emanating from Doc was incredibly comforting to the smaller brunette; he loved his boyfriend's warm hugs, and his cuddles even more. This is exactly why he adored late evenings; delaying his sleep was well worth the comfort he received in return. He usually fell asleep like this, all bundled up with Doc under a warm blanket in the middle of the night as moonlight streamed through the window onto their calm, sleeping faces.

The air in the room was starting to become very cold from the freezing wind blowing through the still-open window. It was getting colder and colder outside as the sun drifted under the horizon to let twilight take reign over the darkening evening sky. Bdubs shivered lightly, feeling goosebumps pop up on the exposed skin of his arms; wearing a t-shirt to sleep in the early spring probably wasn't the brightest idea on his part.

The taller brunette seemed to have noticed this because he tightened his arms protectively around Bdubs and purred quietly, allowing his body heat to warm up the smaller. Bdubs smiled softly and carefully turned around in his boyfriend's hold to bury his face in his chest, nuzzling his warm hoodie for more warmth. Doc, not expecting this sudden act of affection, froze, lifting his arms from Bdubs' sides on reflex as a fierce blush took over his face. The smaller brunette, now exposed to the cool air of the room without Doc's large arms to keep him warm, started shivering as the cold wind licked up his now exposed sides and back where his shirt had ridden up to reveal his soft, pale skin.

The hybrid felt a slight pang of guilt and quickly enveloped Bdubs in a hug, holding him even tighter than before as the smaller melted into the warm and comforting touch. He was about to utter an apology but Bdubs spoke first, right as the taller hybrid opened his mouth.

"Mmm, you're so warm..." the small brunette mumbled lazily into Doc's hoodie, his voice muffled by the fabric. Doc's face grew impossibly warmer from the comment, he felt his heart pound in his chest as many butterflies fluttered around in his stomach, softly tickling his heartstrings with their imaginary wings.

"T-thank y-."

"You know, you really don't need to keep thanking me for complimenting you. Do you really like it that much when I tell you how pretty you are, Doccy?" Bdubs teased lightly, cutting Doc off mid-sentence. "You're handsome, smart, cute, dorky, y'know, perfect in every way," the shorter brunette gushed, continuing to praise his boyfriend, a soft sigh leaving his lips when he felt the hybrid press a shy kiss to his hair. "I love you so much, Doc."

"I love you too," Doc spoke sincerely, pressing another kiss to Bdubs' hair as his boyfriend giggled, a sound that never failed to make him melt.

The shorter brunette closed his eyes, humming quietly. He felt thoroughly exhausted and he definitely wouldn't have minded falling asleep like this; his boyfriend holding him close and kissing his forehead and hair.

Doc smiled softly down at his boyfriend's peaceful state and carefully lifted the blanket he had wrapped around his back to wrap it around Bdubs instead, feeling the smaller immediately relax in his hold.

He felt his eyes grow heavy and tried to get more comfortable, slacking against the couch and pulling Bdubs even closer. He sighed and finally let sleep take him away, all warm and content, cuddling with the love of his life in the late, late evening.
