season one — episode one }

Everyday that passed without having any leads on the whereabouts of her twin brother was a hard day. Every day she missed him a little bit more a lost a little bit more of hope of ever finding him. But, today, was specially hard.

It has been a complete year since the disappearance of the two teenagers that shattered the whole town, and most people had given up on the idea of finding them alive, but Elizabeth Howard didn't. She knew it was foolish, she had seen enough police-shows to know that once the first forty-eight hours had passed, the chances of finding them alive highly went down. But she couldn't bring herself into thinking that her brother was dead, she couldn't give up on him. She knew that Liam wouldn't if it was her the one that had been gone for a year. As confusing as it may sound, the first few weeks were easier; finding Liam and Alison seemed to be everyone's top priority, but as time went by without any news, Rosewood citizens started to slowly forget about them. It was a great loss, yes, but eventually, the town started to move on.

The youngest Howard was now sitting at the brew by herself, staring at a piece of newspaper pinned on the wall. Alison Dilaurentis. Still missing. Would now be sixteen, along with a smiling picture of the beautiful teenager.

It made Lizzie's blood boil. Even in a situation like this, she managed to steal the spotlight. Even though the whole town was aware that the Dilaurentis girl wasn't the only one who disappeared that night, it was Rosewood it girl's face the one in every front page of the newspaper.

"Did you know her?" a soft female voice took her out of her thoughts. Lizzie tore her eyes off the paper and looked at the girl who just served her the coffee she had order before "Sorry, I didn't mean to pry"

"It's fine" she assured with a fake smile, not that anyone could tell anymore which ones were fake "And no, I barely knew her" she lied, looking down as she grabbed the coffee.

"You are like the first person to say that. Everyone seems to knew her" the waitress awkwardly said, remembering all the conversations about the girl that the costumes had been having all day long.

"She was a popular girl" she admitted, sighing and looking again at the green eyed girl, slightly tilting her head. The blonde girl didn't recognized the beautiful brunette standing in front of her, and that was something strange. In Rosewood, everyone knew everyone "Have we met before?"

"I think I'd remember if I met someone as you" she smoothly let out, making Lizzie funnily raise her eyebrow "I'm new in town actually, today is my first day"

"Well, welcome to Rosewood then I guess" the blonde extended her hand for the other girl to shake "I'm Lizzie Howard"

"Sabrina St.Germain" the brunette replied with a sweet smile, shaking the blonde's hand.
