Yanzhou border.
The dome of the sky was as dark as ink, while the moon and stars were dim. Although this huge mansion was brightly lit, the atmosphere was particularly depressing as if dark clouds were overhead and the storm from the mountains was about to come. Two people were pacing outside the courtyard as they watched basins of bloody water coming out of the bedroom. Their hearts sank uncontrollably like a punctured grass boat. The man could no longer hold his composure anymore. He turned away and headed for the door when the woman grabbed him hastily.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to contact the people of Ye family in Yanzhou and ask them to send a letter to Guanzhong. This matter can no longer be hidden from the Elder Young Master."
The man and woman are precisely Ci Yuan and Yue'ya. They were blocked outside the courtyard by the shadow guards since they entered this mansion. Until now, they have no idea what Lisa's condition is. They merely saw the medical officer as well as the maidservants entering and exiting, with solemn brows and light gaits. Whenever the door opened or closed, there was not the least bit of sound but heart-wrenching silence.
While they, however, could only stand here and watch. If they didn't ask Pei Yuanshu, they wouldn't even know where their master was injured.
Yue'ya pulled his arm to prevent him from leaving and said anxiously, "Don't act recklessly. If this matter is disclosed to the Elder Young Master, Young Miss will definitely be angry when she wakes up."
Ci Yuan flared up, "Are we just going to continue standing here? What's to be done if something happens to Young Miss? You saw what happened today too. Wangye had obviously laid enough armed forces to ambush and deal with King Qiyang, yet he insisted Young Miss and Lord Pei to go down the mountain to seek help. This was simply to test them out! It's alright for Lord Pei, after all he was sent by the Emperor, but what wrong has Young Miss done? She traveled from afar to accompany and cohere Wangye through any perilous situation, yet only fell short of gouging her heart out to show him, so why should she be treated so wrongly by him?"
Yue'ya silently endured his fury, but her heart thumped when she heard certain phrases.
Darn, is there a possibility that Wangye has discovered that letter?
Since they arrived in Jingzhou, the growing affection between Wangye and Young Miss is something that everyone sees. There's no reason why it would suddenly be like this, unless there's something that Wangye misconstrued hence, he wanted to sound Young Miss out. The more Yue'ya thought about it, the more she felt something must have went wrong with that letter after comparing the timing, hence her face turned pale.
Ci Yuan acutely saw something was not right. He grasped her wrist back and asked, "Do you know something?"
"I...I..." After several hum and haw, Yue'ya eventually opted to reveal everything under his compelled stare, "Young Miss asked me to send a letter to the palace before. You know if she doesn't do that the Empress would certainly become suspicious...."
"I know, but Wangye doesn't." Ci Yuan spat out coldly then looked at the tightly closed door with obscured eyes.
Inside the bedroom, the female medical officer is still treating Lisa's wounds.
She recalled when the person was brought here just an hour ago, several layers of the clothing on her body were saturated with blood and the dense fishy smell was suffocating. The female medical officer thought a wolf had bitten her artery and wanted to cut her clothes for inspection but who knew Jungkook held her tightly without even moving as if trapped in a nightmare. It wasn't until Yugyeom called out from behind that he awakened suddenly and placed the person in his arms down with utmost care before making his way to the side.
