-(Y/N)"s POV-

There was silence.

No one spoke for a long time.

"AHHHHHHH! (Y/NNNNNNNN)!" The mohawk broke the silence. What was his name? Yamamoto? "BE MY WIFEEEE! I WILL GIVE—"

"Shut it," Kuro said with a deadpan expression. "You"re gonna make her regret knowing that you exist."

"HUH? DID YOU JUST INSULT THE GREAT YAMAMOTO?"

"Yes."

"HOW DARE YOU—"

"Geez, just shush," Kuro said with an epic eye roll. "You"re overreacting."

"Not really," I said. "I haven"t exactly had a friend in a long time. It"s been one or two years since I decided to hide behind the icy wall I built."

"Two years?!" Kuro exclaimed, dramatically gasping. "You poor child! Why would you even do that?"

I took a deep breath and let it all pour out of me.

I told them everything.

The days I played in the rain.

The days when I was cheerful and bright.

The days when I was happy.

The day I realised for the first time that the world wasn"t perfect.

All the times people played me.

All the times people used me.

All the times I got beat up.

All the times I hoped.

The day I realised I can"t hope.

The day I realised hope will always break me.

The day decided to hide myself behind layers of ice.

The day I met Kenma and Kuro.

The day I decided to try once more.

The day I realised that they haven"t asked for a single thing from me.

The day I realised they haven"t even tried to use me.

The day I realised they care.

The day I realised that I was not alone.

"You guys gave me hope. So, thank you," I smiled.

The room fell silent again.

"We"re right here, (Y/N)," Kuro said, wrapping an arm around me. "And we"re not going anywhere."

-timeskip-

My phone went buzzed on my bed.

unknown

Hello, (Y/N).

me

Who is this? State your name and business.

unknown

Um... it"s Kenma.

me

Oh! Sorry.

Kenma

It"s fine.

me

Well, I gotta go.

Kenma

Huh? Um... "kay bye.

I put down my phone.

Did he have something to say?

Meh, it"s probably just my imagination.

-timeskip-

The dark water around me was slightly warm.

Strange.

They will leave you.

They will use you.

No, won"t, I thought.

The droplets appeared again.

The darkness seemed ready to show me more nightmarish memories.

But in the dark drops of rain...

In the drops of dark memories...

There was a bright one.

Not shining, but glowing fainting.

In that drop...

I saw him.

He gave me hope and warmth.

He"ll be the one to break you.

He"ll play you like any other game.

He won"t.

They won"t.

I"m sure they"ll stay.

The flames burned.

The darkness dispersed.

I felt it clearly as the fire burned through those last layers of ice.

I"m free.

Finally free.

I floated in the dark.

I looked at the drops of memories.

I know I didn"t have a lot of bright ones.

But I can make more.

And... someday...

I will make this place glow.
