He came awake slowly. His world was full with dull pain, his body was numb. He hesitatingly opened his eyes, only for them to widen in shock. Where was he?!

He groaned as he turned his head, taking in his surroundings. Everywhere was white, where the hell was he? He started to tremble in fear, was this another of Kurt's mind-fucking games?

He became aware of an accelerated beeping noise, he looked to his right and there stood a machine with cables, beeping incessantly. He frowned and trailed the cables, one was connected to his arm, he bit his lip. What was going on?

Slowly, he sat up. His body numb but still feeling hints of pain behind a dull haze. His bed was so soft... he had sheets... he was dressed in soft pajamas... was he...? No, he didn't dare hope.

He sighted two doors in the pristine white room. One of them suddenly started opening and his lungs gave up on him. His body grew tense as he waited and watched, expecting Kurt to emerge from behind the wooden door.

His heart halted at the sight.

"Taylor..."

His brain short-circuited, he hadn't heard his name spoken in a long time.

"You're awake." His tired gaze took in the features of the person standing there. A wild mop of brown hair, beautiful teal eyes that held unshed tears and pale skin so much like Taylor's had been all those years ago. A name to mind but he didn't dare hope.

"Taylor..." a smile graced the soft, sweet features. Taylor's heart slowly beat faster, the beep accompanying it, stealing that teal gaze away from him to the machine.

He opened his mouth slowly, "A..." he stopped. Hopeful teal eyes landed back on him. "Ron...?"

He yelped as the youth suddenly threw himself at his battered body in a crushing hug, that tortured his beaten ribs but which healed his soul in the most comforting way. He was safe. He was back. He was no longer trapped. Blissful tears fell silently down his sunken cheeks, his thin arms rising and wrapping around his dear friend. They had never gave up on him... They waited for him... They hoped for him... His body shook with silent sobs, just like Aaron.

He didn't know how long they sat there like that, Aaron's grip on him tightening further and further as if he never wanted to let go of him. The door opened and another person made herself known. Taylor's eyes filled with tears again at the sight of the beautiful girl, he knew Cathleen would become a beautiful woman.

The cups of coffee she was holding were now on the white floor, leaving a brown stain that awfully reminded him of dried blood, but the thought vanished as another pair of arms wrapped around him and the presence and scent of his favorite girl filled him.

"Tay... oh God... Tay! We're here! I'm never letting you out of my sight again!" she cried into his hair, which he noted was fully clean for the first time in years.

He released one of his arms from around Aaron, who was still clinging tightly to him, and wrapped it around his distressed friend.

"Cat..." he muttered, just the uttering of her name felt like heaven on his lips. He missed them. He missed being with them. He missed chatting with them. He missed everything about them. His vision was fully blurred now, his tears never ceasing, four years of pain and longing spilling down his cheeks.

After a few minutes he finally pulled back, the pain in his ribs becoming a bit too much. He looked from Aaron to Cathleen, taking in their features, memorizing them forever. He could only imagine how he looked... His body much too thin... Scars filling his sickly pale skin... His eyes and hair had lost their shine... A pang of anguish filled him, why couldn't he have grown up together with them? He wanted to be with them forever... grow with them... share his every moment with them... Kurt had taken it away.
