P.O.V: RENE'S
Smack
Is all I heard before I saw Gary fall to the floor. I watch in guilt as he flinches away from me. Realization hit me that I had just struck out not one but twice.
I was relieved when he let me guide him back to the table. I didn't even glance at Ana's trembling figure.
" I'll go get some ice from the bartender. Does anyone want anything to drink?" Jaime asks standing up.
I quickly yank him down and rush over to the bartender explaining why I needed a bag with ice and and ordering the most popular drink on the menu, ironically called strike out.
I quickly but carefully make my way back to the table and as gently as I could, placed the ice bag on his left eye. From what I could see he was going to have a nasty black eye in the morning.
"Sorry" I mumble.
He just smiles waving me off. I glance at the only boy I have yet to injure and see his eyes widen in fear, he quickly looks away. Most likely thinking of an excuse that will allow him to escape.
Rage over takes me, tonight's ordeals fresh on my mind, I grab hold of the boys hand and lead him to the dance floor.
He tries to smile but it was too stiff to call a smile. He was so out of it he grabs hold of me and begins to tango.
At this point I knew something was going to go horribly wrong. As I felt my rage subside I honestly attempted to stop him but he was too tense to listen to me.
As he spins us around he trips and hits the most muscled man in the room. The man rubbs his jaw a bit before lifting up the boy and pulling his hand back.
Before I hear him connect I turn around and camly walk back to my seat.
"Where's Aaron?" Greg asks.
I shake my head and simply ask Ana if she would go check on him while I go get the first aid kit.
The bartender was surprised to see me back so soon and gave me a drink on the house. I thank him and sit down disregarding the perplexed looks of the men who were seated a few seats away from me.
After downing my fourth glass I glance up at the bartender who was leaning against the back wall just staring at me curiously.
I raise a single eyebrow,"May I help you?" I asked a bit irritated.
He just smiles, not ashamed of the fact that he was caught staring.
"I apologize but I have never seen a girl down four of our strongest drinks and not even slurr her words."
I shrug my shoulders,"I'm not a girl ...", his eyebrows shoot up in surprise," ... I'm a woman." I smirk.
He looked taken off guard and bursts out laughing, not one of those light ones either, no, it was a full belly laugh that had him tearing up.
He stretches out his hand and I meet him halfway.
"The names Elliot, it's a pleasure to meet you." He smiles.
"Rene, ... the pleasure is all mine." I say hesitantly.
"Your not like most girls I like that." He says.
"Well your lucky you caught me after consuming alcohol."
"Why do you say that?" He asks.
"Gives me the bravery I need to ask you out on a date."
He raises his eyebrows and grins mischievously. That's when I notice how kissable his lips are, thin compared to most guys with a baby pink coloring to them.
His eyes are a butter scoth color, intensified by his darkened blond hair. His skin so fair it practically glowed underneath the clubs lights.
I was so entransed by his appearance I hadn't noticed him lean in until he was just a breath away .
"I must say, I have never been asked out by a woman before, much less a beauty like you." He whispers seductively.
Without thinking I grab his shirt and pull him in planting a kiss on his partially opened lips.
I let go allowing him to stumble back in surprise.
"That was just a taste, so you know what your not getting." I smirk.
He stares at me astonished as I walk away leaving the light sweater I had behind.
I walk back to the table where Ana looked to be upset. Wondering what had happened I turn to her brother for an explanation when Ana grabs my hand and drags me to a darkened hallway.
"Ana ...sweety, what's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing, just please ... this time Rene could you just not ask? ... I'll tell you eventually just not now." She sobs.
"Alright" I say.
I feel her wrap her arms around my shoulders and I run my hands up and down her back in a soothing manner, till the tears stop.
After a while she pulls away and I feel her shiver. Remembering I had left my sweater at the bar I ask her if she was ready to head home.
"Sorry I forgot were in the dark so you can't see me nodding ... just let me go to the restroom. Believe it or not I still have fluids to expel." She laughs sadly.
I laugh and agree.
"I'll wait out here though, because from what I can smell something in there died about a year ago."
I hear her feel around for a door when the door we came through before opens. I turn around to see who it is, when the door shuts out the light that had streamed in, leaving me a bit disoriented.
"Who-" was all I managed to get out before a wet cloth was placed over my nose, before the darkness takes over I hear a thud ...... and i knew they got Ana too.
.................. Shit.
