Chapter 14

You couldn't sleep, no matter how much you tried, you just didn't feel safe enough in Keigo's house to sleep, and you weren't sure why. You wandered around, making sure all the windows were shut and locked. You had just made it to the last window, it was open pretty wide, hawks had probably used it to get in, after all, he had always thought that doors were 'boring'. You look out at the night sky as you shut the window, it felt wierd, like you weren't used to looking up at it.

You heard something fall from somewhere in the house, and Hawks started screaming. You ran up to his room as fast as you could, and turned on the lights. Two men stared at you as you stood there on the door way, one looked half asleep, the other was pinned to the roof by a bunch of feathers.

"What the hell is going on Keigo! Who's that?"

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE KEIGO! SHE DOESN'T EVEN RECOGNISE ME! JUST WAIT TILL I GET DOWN FROM HERE, I'LL SNAP YOUR PRETTY LITTLE NECK AND MAKE SURE NO ONE FINDS YOUR ASHE-" the man is cut off as Keigo removed his feathers, releasing him, causing him to crash into the ground.

" This is no one y/n, just go back to bed, let me deal with him"

You stood in front of the man instinctively, as if you knew you should protect him from your brother.

"Move out of the way, now!"

"NO! Not until you explain who he is!"

"Y/n, you've left me no choice... Power down!" your vision fades as he says the words.

Dabi's pov:

As Hawks said that, y/n went limp, falling to the ground, I caught them, wanting to make sure they weren't hurt.

"What did you just do!?" I asked, cradling her limp body, not wanting to let go.

"Seriously? Are you really that stupid Dabi? Think about what I just said, and then think about why she's still alive, maybe you'll figure it out."

I quickly activated my quirk, using the fire to create smoke, I escaped, taking y/n with me. I took her to an apartment that Shigiraki had been kind enough to gift me, I still didn't want to speak with him, but Toga came to give me the keys on his behalf.

Ok, if this is correct then she should...
"Y/n, power on." I whispered in her ear.

Y/n's pov:

I woke up in an apartment of some kind, one I didn't recognise.
"What happened?" I ask, talking to myself, until I realise someone else was there. The man from hawks room was lying on the floor with me, holding onto me, he was fast asleep. He looked so cute, and almost familiar.

You carefully move his arm so you could get up, your joints ached, how long had you been on the floor? The man started to stir, reaching out at the air in front of him, he woke up once he realised you weren't there.

"Y/n! You're awake, I thought that bird brain had killed you again or something, I was so worried!" he said, hugging you.

Bird brain? Was he talking about Hawks? You've only known one other person to call hawks bird brain. Toya. But, he was dead, wasn't he? You move away from the man.

"I'm sorry but I really don't know who you are, am I meant to?" His mood seemed to instantly change once you said that.

"oh, so, what's the last thing you remember? Just so I can understand how much you're missing..."

"The last thing I remember? It was an argument with hawks, about me infiltrating the lov... Then I woke up in a lab, there was a man who would come and visit, he would scribble in his notebook silently for hours, and when Keigo came to save me, he told me I'd been gone for 10 years."

"that argument, that happened almost 11 years ago, and 10 years ago, you died. In that 1 year you missed, you joined the lov, where you met me, but I guess it wasn't the first time we met, but you figured that out yourself, a lot happened in that year, I betrayed the lov for you, but they found us, threatened to kill you if I told hawks anything, but the bird brain insisted... I lost it, yelled at him, didn't think about what I was saying and-" You stop him from talking.

" And he instantly increased security, the lov noticed, and the band, it glowed and-" You rubbed the burn around your wrist, memories of that year flooding back." I can't believe I forgot you Dabi, I'm so sorry" You hug him, and he cries.

"You don't have to be sorry about anything, it's my fault I lost you"
