Chapter Five

18 years later:
Natasha came home as the same time as her parents. Her friends, Pond and Phuwin who she carpooled with are a couple then said "See you tomorrow Nat" and soon drove off. She saw her parents car and went in to find her mom in the kitchen. Her dad was probably in the bedroom.

"Mama dad I'm home" she announced and her mama smiled

"Hey honey. Glad you're home. Go and get freshen up. I'm making something special tonight" he said

Natasha just smiled "Okay mama. Be right back" and she walked up the the stairs and headed to her bedroom and changed into something comfortable.

She came down and saw various ingredients spread all over the counter.

"Mama what do you want me to do first?" She ask

"Wash your hand and chop the onions please in cubes"

"Okay mama" and soon she helped her mama until the food was ready and she placed it all on the kitchen table.

Alex came home to find his sister helping their mama while their dad was nowhere in sight.

"Mama, Nat I'm home. Where's dad?"he ask

"In the bedroom. Probably still sulking" his mama simply said as he added more salt to the food. "Alex go and freshen up and call your dad to come down for dinner. If he didn't budge just say that mama will not allow him to touch him for a week. Now go"

"Okay mama" Alex said and soon he climbed up the stairs and went to his bedroom to change and went to the master bedroom, knocking the door.

"Dad. Mama say to come down for dinner or he won't let you touch him for a week" Alex said.

The door sprung open as his dad who was pouting went out of the bedroom closing the door and went downstairs. Alex follows soon after still amused by how his dad still scared of mama's threat.

'Dad...just admit you are still whipped after many years' Alex thought as he joined his family at the dining table. He take a look at the spread of food and eyes widen

"Such a spread. What's the occasion mama?" Alex ask as he scoop up the rice

"Nothing special. Just a simple meal to stop a big sulky baby from pouting all day" his mama simply answered. That made his dad pout even more

Natasha couldn't help but chuckle "What did he do this time mama?" Natasha asks

"I just told him that we couldn't go to our honeymoon on our anniversary this year. He sulk so much that even his secretary couldn't help but laugh at him making him even more sulky"

"Why can't you go for your honeymoon trip? It's been years" Alex ask

"Yeah why didn't you two go?" Natasha ask as well.

'"Well your mama was to get treatment after our wedding. His cancer spread a lot so he had to take chemotherapy and it took a long time for him to have a clear from the doctor" Their dad answered.

"You had cancer?!" The both of them yelled out

"Yes. I had stage one lung cancer. No need to yell" their mama said

"'Was that why we always been taken care of by Grandma Nuch and Granny all the time?"

Both the parents nodded "Yeah. I have to skip work to accompany your mama to go for his treatment"  their dad answered. 

The twins stopped eating and got up and hugged their mama "Mama we are glad you're alright now" "Yeah. We're glad you got through it"

Their mama just smiled as he hugged them back. The dad got up and joined the hug.
