ace was nervous. he was going to meet his girlfriend after nearly five months. he knew the facetimes and texts weren't the same. especially with the time difference. but he didn't say anything because he knew education was important.
but now, with the small velvet box weighing down the pocket of his jeans, he knew he couldn't back out. especially when he saw his cheery ball of sunshine jumping in the crowd, making way towards him.
he had missed her smile, and her vanilla scent, her random astronomy facts and her sour patches. and now that she was only a little distance away from him, he couldn't help but break out into a smile himself. it was very small- almost invisible- but she could sense it and that's all she really needed.
