KELLIN'S P.O.V.
When I got home, I walked into the kitchen to see my mother angrily making a sandwich.

"Hey, mom." I awkwardly smiled.

She turned towards me with a pissed expression on her face. "Where the hell were you?"

"I was at Jenna's and then we went to a party." I answered truthfully, leaving out the bad part.

"I called your Aunt, and she said that you didn't go back there with Jenna. So there's obviously something you're not telling me."

"Uhh..." I quickly racked my brain for an excuse before thinking of an alibi. "I went to Jesse's."

She narrowed her eyes at me. "Well, let me check. Just in case you think you can lie to me."

My mom picked up the phone and I silently prayed that Jesse would answer. I probably wasted all my luck for this year, because after a few rings my ginger friend picked up.

"Lawson residence, how may I assist you?" He said in a lame British accent.

"This is Kellin's mom." My mother said in a tone that showed she meant business. "Kellin didn't come home last night, so I was wondering if he slept at your house."

The entire room was silent for a few seconds before I heard Jesse clear his throat. "Uh, yeah. He slept over and then left this morning. Why do you ask?"

I mentally made a note to buy Jesse an ice cream sandwich because he was a fucking lifesaver.

My mom gave me a look that basically said 'You're lucky you weren't lying' and went to speak again when she was cut off.

"Mrs. Quinn, Kellin left his wallet here. Would you mind if he came and got it? I would never remember to bring it to school on Monday."

That obviously meant that he wanted to talk to me, and I could only imagine what about.

"Sure. He'll be there soon, bye." My mom hung up and stared at me expectantly. "You heard him. Quickly run over there and come back, okay?"

"Okay, bye mom." I kissed her cheek innocently.

"Bye, you little shit." She glared playfully before going back to her sandwich.

The drive to Jesse's was a short one, and I only knocked on the door once before it was flung open.

"Where the frickity frack were you last night and why did I have to cover for you?" Jesse immediately asked.

"Uh, that's kind of a long story." I muttered, feeling my checks turn a light shade of pink.

"Well come upstairs and tell me, the guys are all here."

I nodded in defeat before walking up the stairs and into Jesse's bedroom, which looked like it had become a refugee camp. Jack was on Jesse's bed so I guessed that they shared it, Gabe was passed out on Jesse's beanbag, and Justin was literally asleep on the desk.

"Wake up, bitches!" Jesse called before flicking the light on.

"Dude, what the fuck? Turn that shit off." Gabe groaned.

Jesse reluctantly turned off the light. "We have gossip!"

Justin sat up suddenly. "Did someone say gossip?"

"It's Vic related, isn't it?" Jack said without even opening his eyes.

"How could you guess that when you didn't even see that I was here?" I asked with a chuckle.
