"My direct deposit should have hit. I'm sorry I don't understand?" You try to hold back the frustration as you try to withdraw money from your account. A fake smile was plastered on your face. Rent was due today and your landlord was not lenient.

"I'm sorry. It's not available yet." The teller frowns you could tell they were just as uncomfortable as you were about the situation. "I'm really sorry." You take a deep breath and nod.

"It's not your fault..." you were going to try and comfort them when a loud bang interrupts you. A group of masked figures enter the building shouting. You look around and see young children look up at their parents in confusion met with fear. Before you could even think about it you used your quirk.

Hawks pov
Hawks lean against the building yawning. This was the easiest capture in his career. The one thing that was bothering him was the robbers' confused expressions when they turned to tell them they had hostages. As Hawks looks around the scene he notices a small girl tugging a woman's hoodie. The woman looked down, a bit taken back as the young girl hugged her. The mother bowed and repeatedly told her thank you.

The woman put up a hand to stop them but the two were overcome with gratitude. He slowly makes his way over. "You saved us all!" The mother says before realizing his presence. The attention was instantly drawn to him. "Hero hawks!! It's an honor!!" The mother shouts and the little girl lights up. "Could she have an autograph?"

"Of course! Anything for my little bird!" Hawks pat the girl on her head. The mother rushes to pull a pen and receipt paper from her bag and he signs it with a perfect smile. "So I saw you thanking this lady right here?" He questions and the woman looks up with a frown.

"Ooo yes! She was the one who got us all out undetected. She was our hero today!" The mother gushes and the woman crosses her arms uncomfortably. Hawks raise an eyebrow in her direction.

"Well I think the public should know about this!" Hawks proclaims, walking over and setting his arm around the strangers shoulders.

"No it's really not a big deal." The woman mutters but is involuntarily dragged towards the camera. The moment the number two hero is close they run to see what was going on. He feels her tense up.

"I simply did my job! But this normal citizen was the one who rescued all the hostages! She is the true hero of the day." Hawks proclaimed to the news outlets and they began shouting questions at her.

"No... I..." the woman stammered to respond and he found it adorable. "I just did what anyone would have. I didn't want an innocent person to be hurt. Please, it's not a big deal!" The desperation in her voice made Hawks feel a bit bad for forcing her into the spotlight. He personally gave no fucks whether he received positive or negative press but never thought that someone wouldn't want any attention for such a selfless feat.

Y/N POV
I hate this.... I hate this.... Just leave me alone... You silently begged the universe. The over the top pro hero was parading you around like a trophy. You just wanted to go home and relax. The press inching as close as possible. You were holding in a scream.
