~Bondita's POV~

"There's gotta be at least one here. Please give me luck this time!"
I scanned through the shelves of the sixth bookstore I've visited and was desperate to find the next volume of my favorite limited edition series.

It was a horror series and the newest volume has just been released, but most of them have already been sold out in a matter of seconds as every bookstore I've visited was crowded with people who were looking to buy the same book as me. As I carefully scanned every single area thoroughly, to my luck, I finally was able to find the book I'd been looking for. And the thing is, there was only one more copyleft, so I just quickly got my hands on it.

"Yes! Finally!"
I smiled excitedly as I hugged the book in my arms.

After I found the book, I began walking toward the counter to pay for it until I felt eyes on me from the corner of my eyes. As I turned towards the eye that was staring at me, I saw a guy around my age or a few years older than me, leaning on a bookshelf with his arms crossed as he stares at me expressionlessly.

"Why is he staring at me? Does he need something?"
I thought as I started back awkwardly.

But then he begins walking up to me while keeping his eyes locked on mine. His arms are still crossed as he reaches me. After he stood in front of me he averts his eyes to the book I'm holding and then back up to meet my eyes again.

"Give me that book."
That was what he said with a monotone voice.

"Excuse me? I got this book first."
I replied back as I held it tightly in my chest and glared at him.

"Does it look like I care? Just give it to me."
He says nonchalantly as he rolls his eyes at me and extends his hand out so he could take the book from me.

"I'm not giving you the last copy of this book even if you asked a thousand times!"
I refused and turned away until I heard a finger snap as someone else approached me right away.
An elderly-looking man prevented me from walking any further as he easily rakes the book away from me while it was loosely held in my arms.

"I apologize for my rudeness Miss  but I need to follow orders."
The man apologizes and then heads over to the guy from before.

"Excuse me, but that's my book! You took it from me!"
I pointed at my book that's now in the hands of that guy while scowling at him.
The guy didn't say anything and just walked away. I was going to follow him and get my book back until that old man stopped me again.

"Once again, I apologize for what happened. Please just take this and go on your own way."
He gives me an envelope with money inside and then bows and leaves before I could even say anything back.

"W-wait! Take this back, I don't need this!"
I was shouting back at the old man, but he didn't turn around. When I chased after them, they were already gone in an instant. They disappeared and I couldn't find them at all.
