CONTINUATION FROM CHAPTER 2

BONDITA'S POV

"I'm leaving. Don't try and stop me because it won't work."

I turned on my heels and was about to leave the place, but Tapur held my hand firmly as she pleaded for me to stay.

"Please don't leave. I don't want us to quit like this, Bondita. I know how much it hurts for you to be reminded of these kinds of places, but I didn't apply for us to cause more pain to you"

She started explaining and I could tell her voice was shaky as she spoke.

"I did this for you Bondu. I did this to help you overcome your fear because I hated seeing how broken you were all the time, and I just wanted my bulletproof friend that no one could hurt. And we promised each other in tough situations that we would stick to each other in tough situations and help each other when we went through hard times."

Not going to lie, her words melted my heart and sent tiny droplets of tears streaming down my face, but I quickly wiped them away because I knew that if she saw me crying, then she would cry as well. And of course, she had to bring up the promises to convince me. When was she not there for me when I needed her?

so I turned back around and sighed when I saw that she was about to cry. I finally hugged her and agreed to stay and work with her even though I knew that I wouldn't end up liking it a bit. I had to do it for her and myself. I knew that I needed to get over my traumatic past sooner or later even if it was the most challenging thing to do.

"Alright, I'll stay! You big crybaby!"

When I agreed to stay, her face brightened as she wiped away the tears that had welled up in her eyes.

" Thank you, Bondu! And if you ever feel like everything's too much for you to handle after working for a while, then we can leave together and never return. I promise you that!"

Tapur promised and I nodded as I gave her a small smile. After the agreement, we waited for a few minutes until the manager of the company showed up and started explaining our tasks. When she brought up the word "cleaner", my face immediately changed. What did she just say we were going to be?

"Excuse me? Cleaners?"

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing that since I've had that role so many times while working with smaller companies.

"Yes, that's correct."

When the manager said that I became speechless and looked over at Tapur who just shrugged.

"Evil witch"

I gave her a disappointed look while she avoided eye contact

"Don't look at me like that. I mean, it's the only safest job in this place since you don't like being around too many people or interacting with them."

Tapur tried to be reasonable with me and I couldn't help but agree with her. I decided not to say anything back and focus on the manager who had more to say.

" As I was saying, you will work as cleaners and work until late at night when everyone is gone so you can clean every floor."

She began explaining again and I nodded as I listened to her. It wouldn't be hard since I'm excellent at cleaning. it has always been one of the things I'm good at.

"And also-"

As the manager was explaining everything, she was suddenly cut off when we heard loud sounds and voices coming through the entrance. As we all turned around towards the sound, we saw cameras flashing everywhere and reporters flooding the whole main floor. I started feeling uncomfortable because of the flooding cameras, but tried to stay calm. The staff in the building were also standing around trying to figure out what the hell was going on. I also heard two people who were standing near us talking about someone's return.

???: "Is that him?! Did he return after 3 years of traveling overseas?!"

One staff asked the other in a low voice.

???: " I believe so. He also looks like he has changed a lot. We sure don't want to get on his bad side." the staff replied.

Who was this person who was causing too much attention early in the morning? And why am I getting an uneasy feeling about this? As the person who was the center of attraction came into view, I saw that he was wearing a mask that covered his face. it looked like he did not even care about what was going on around him.

Why does he look so familiar? I thought as I looked at his eyes which were void of any emotions. Yeah...his hairstyle and clothing may be different but his eyes reminded me of someone...Someone...I just. It's him! Now I remember those eyes! It's that jerk from yesterday! My thoughts came to a realization when I remembered him.

"W-who's that?

I asked the manager and she looked at me in shock.

"How do you not know the CEO of this agency? "You came here to work yet you don't know the person who runs it?!"

Once she revealed who he was, I became speechless.

"CEO?!!

My eyes widened as looked back at him. I couldn't believe that this jerk who I was going to be working for.

"That's Mr. Roy Chowdhury who just returned from 3 years break"

The manager gives me more info about him and I just watched him walk through the crowd of reporters and cameramen.

Well shit...I did not sign up for this

Suddenly he stopped walking as he just stood there looking straight from where he stood. I could only see his side view as I was standing on the side. And the next thing I know he turned his head towards my direction and looked straight at me. However, i was quick enough to turn around since I didn't want him to see me. I seriously didn't want him to know that I was the person he saw yesterday.

What have i gotten myself into?!!

When I waited for a few seconds and thought that he had gone away. I turned around but only to realize it was a big mistake. He was still standing in his spot as his eyes locked with mine. He stared back at me with an impassive look as I just stood frozen in place.

"D-Does he recognize me?" I thought as he maintained the eye contact

"Did I just agree to be a cleaner at this jerk's building?!!"
