After he settled down he didn't knew how to approach the topic.
Should he apologize first? Or should he say the reason first? But what was the reason? He himself didn't had a idea.
He sighed heavily. And just spoke what came to his mind first,
"I'm so sorry taehyung. Please forgive me."
Taehyung didn't answered as jungkook had expected. He(taehyung) just continued reading. But jungkook wasn't gonna back down. Maybe it was because of the guilt? Or the promise he made to himself?
Whatever it was jungkook was going to learn from his mistakes and make everything atleast normal again.
With that determination he again said whatever came to his mind,
"I know you are jealous and maybe... insecure too. But it wasn't my intention. I just met after almost..."
He took some seconds to collect his thoughts. Then continued,
"9... years?"
It came out as a question which he himself answered to,
"Yeah, nine years. I just missed him. He was my first ever friend. When he told me he was moving away. It broke me. I was just a teenager at that time. And now that I met him again... I just... I just couldn't control myself. I'm really really sorry tae. My intention wasn't to hurt you. But I did it anyway. Now please let me make it up to you. Please."
The last word was a desperate plea.
Taehyung replied calmly. Yet jungkook's heart felt like it would pop out of his chest.
"I accept your apology."
Jungkook was in pure glee. He wanted jump, dance and do all the crazy shits a person does when they feel like heaven on earth.
Jungkook had a stupid smile on his face. But he had a question. Genuine curiosity.
"Why would you forgive me so easily, though?"
Taehyung chuckled at the question. It wasn't a bitter one. Rather a amused one.
He replied,
"I guess you didn't hear me before. I said, "I accept your apology." I never said I forgive you."
Jungkook ohhed to it. Then again taehyung spoke,
"And it wasn't to reduce your guilt or anything. It was for me. I don't want to hurt myself thinking I hurt you. I don't want to hold grudges. We weren't even that close before anyway. And technically I have no right to be mad or pissed at you anyways."
The part of, 'we aren't that close anyway.' Jungkook winced internally. It hurts.
So, jungkook asked cautiously,
"So... can we..."
He gulped,
"Can we... build our relationship again?"
Taehyung just shrugged his shoulders. A way of saying he didn't agree but he didn't deny either. And this time jungkook was even more esthetic to make everything right between them.
Days passed and everything started falling into its place back again.
Jungkook's birthday is upcoming in two days. They were planning on surprising him.
Taehyung and yugyeom included. Yugyeom had found himself a group. A group full of crackheads I might add. But fun to be around people.
They were also helping them.
