"You're the best! Love you."

Ohm sighed as he sent the text to his friend, hurriedly placing his phone inside his trousers as he stepped into their family's law firm.

Even though he was the son of the CEO, Ohm hated being greeted by the employees and feeling their nervousness whenever he's around. He fixed his uniform's tie to blend among the crowd of corporate people and kept his head lowered most of the time. It's a good thing that he knew the building from the inside and out that he can navigate his way without bumping into any of them.

He made his way toward the familiar office of his uncle, Khatoung, where he often worked part-time whenever the firm needed extra hands. He spotted the familiar face and waved to make his presence known.

Khaotung furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he saw Ohm. If his memory served him correctly, Earth recently ranting about their family meeting that was gonna happen today.

"What are you doing here? Your father already left for your family meeting," Khaotung greeted Ohm with a hug, noticing his mini shrug when he asked his question.

Khaotung tried again, this time, confirming his suspicions, "You sent Chimon again, didn't you?"

Ohm sent him a cheeky smile, a flash of guilt evident in his eyes, "Yeah... I heard everything has been hectic since dad took an indefinite leave. Might as well make myself useful, right?"

Avoiding further conversation, Ohm sat on his uncle's spare office chair and skimmed through the overflowing papers stacked on the table. It's true that the firm needed help, most especially Khaotung, as he's been doing all the decisions when Earth took his leave.

Even so, Khaotung knew how much Earth was looking forward to this family meeting. After all, it's for Mix, his best friend's birthday.

"You know, your father and dad would appreciate it more if you started attending your gatherings," Khaotung placed a hand on Ohm's shoulder.

Ohm knew that. Of course he did. But he also knew that he could still help without him being there. Me being there would make things worse, uncle.

Seeing the younger tense up, Khaotung lightened up the mood and reassured him, "But since you're already here, I'll let this slide since we do really need help."

Ohm let out a little laugh and smirked, "See, you guys really needed my help."

Khaotung raised his eyebrows and decided to tease his nephew, "This is last time, Pawat. The next time I see you ditching family gatherings, I'll drive you there by myself."

Ohm Pawat Watthanasetsiri was usually a patient man. His dad has always said that it's one of the traits he admired the most, and that he probably got that from his father. Mix could never endure too much and be as patient as Earth.

But sometimes people hit their limit; that's the case for Ohm. He was running late to his 8 am classes because he needed to purchase his payment for Chimon's efforts yesterday.

Partly, it was his fault for waking up late. He ended up taking home some of the paperworks that needed to be done in their firm.

Would I rather be late for Attorney's classes or would I rather face the wrath of Chimon?

Ohm knew the answer to his question. Hence, the 30-minute wait he has been enduring. Hands on his waist, left foot tapping nonstop, Ohm was already thinking of the possibilities if his professor caught him late.
