But often preferred not to be

Can be about others

Things many want to be kept
But that's not the case
Secrets
We share them
Secrets
We hear them
Secrets
We fear them
Words spoken quietly into one's ear
Cuz we don't want others to know
Secrets
Hidden inside of one's life, mind, and heart
Cuz we don't want others to know
Secrets
Things that we have
But didn't get
Secrets
They are told
Secrets
They are sold
Secrets
They are what we hold
On to with all our strength
Because if we let them go
We lose them forever
And after can never be found again
For it is no longer
