Charms

Chapter one

This was new to (Y/n). You recently became one of the main researchers to settle on this new planet. Well, we are still living in the ship, but that is just until we conclude that the area is safe to stay in. The plants and animals on this planet are quite different then the ones that used to by on earth and test are still being run to see if they are harmful to humans. Some have been non-harmful, while most are dangerous.

This planet is one that is just now being explored because the remains of a destroyed planet, khaenri'ah, had made the path to this planet, which had been decided to be called "The abyss", to risky for researcher to explore. The leaders of the colony group had hoped to join this planet to teyvat, what they called the group of  seven other colony planets in the solar system. Yet that hope is being lost due to the increasing danger to humans.

The pressure on the researchers was increasing by the day. Many people wanted for us to find a way to make the abyss habitable for humans, but we have yet to find a way to do that. So that leads us here, the researchers exploring a new found area on the abyss.

The air in this area was thick, thicker then any other area found on the abyss. Breathing though the oxygen mask made it easier on everyone's lungs but it was still uncomfortable to breathe at all. Roots were covering the path making you trip every few seconds.

"Ah- god damnit"

A chuckle came from behind (y/n),"You ok there (y/n)?" Aether, who was your best friend since the whole colony thing started, had come along for protection purposes. "Yup! Never been better!" You snapped back at him for laughing. "Sorry sorry." He said as helping you up. "Thanks dude." With a nod Aether continued on the path with (y/n) following close behind.

Once we were in a more open area our head researcher, Albedo, stopped. "This should be a good place to stop and collect the needed specimens." You set down the supplies and the side bag you had been carrying. Starting to collect the needed specimens was not as easy as it would seem, you had to safely remove the plant and make sure not to harm the specimen to insure that if the organism was in fact harmful or had a defense mechanism that no harm would come to the researchers around. Once you gathered all of the unknown organizations for new tests you started to push through the remaining specimens, while doing so something caught your eye. It shined, which seems almost impossible do to the low lighting of the area, yet it did. Moving your hand forward to move the plants covering the strange object, you finally saw the full thing. It was a diamond shape with a dark purple gem in the middle of the strange object. "Huh? Why's this thing in the middle of nowhere." Opening your side bag, you pull out a small cloth. Using the cloth, (Y/n) grabs the object to examine it in more detail. It was around the size of his fist and on the gem had a design that (Y/n) had never seen before. A shout from Albedo was what broke (Y/n) out of their thoughts, "This should be enough for now, let's start heading back." Looking back down at the object in his hand (Y/n) thought for a second before deciding to wrap it completely in the cloth before putting it back in your bag. 'I'll run tests on it when we get back.' With that you joined the others packing the selected organisms.

Hello! Sorry that this took a bit to publish, I've been dealing with alot of stress due to the fact my friend group is falling apart atm but I will try to continue to post and finish the other stories that I'm working on. :D
