summary Where Jean is like in any other moment overworked, but kept awake by her morning coffee that is always served by someone special.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
A voice rang in her ears. Bringing her back from her daydreaming into reality.
"Here's your coffee Jean." you smiled, she looked at you for a moment. Only observing your face and it's dinples. Falling deep into your eyes and feeling her heart flutter for a second.
She felt her words leave her mind blank while she wanted to thank you. Put out the best words, to ppssibly gettimg one day to the point whete shed ask you out. But nothing came out for various reasons. One of them being the fact how she felt the blood rise in her cheeks. Butterflies dancing around in her stomach. Which was yet to be filled with another cup of coffee.
Jean took a deep breath, relaxing her chest as her blue eyes grew softer with their gaze. Getting her way to inhaling the sweet taste of coffee. The aroma smelled delicious to say it like that.
"Thank you," a small and gentle one it was, a smile placed on her lips so warm. While the happiness that wandered around in her body felt never more genuine as she tried to exchange these words.
"And don't overwork yourself!" you shouted after her, but knowing her, she was already off to her office again.
The café owner frowned, you were feeling confused how she always could be this efficient despite overworking herself that much.
Jean on the other hand was trying to make something out of it— how she completely seemed to have messed up, trying to talk to you more than two words.
She hoped for a full conversation one day. As off for now the only thing that would keep her sain was coffee. The devil was fast but work hit faster than any soul depriving contact.
The moment she arrived at work, her through and through friendly- no flirty coworker— Lisa Minci greeted her. She smiled and threw a "Hi Jean~" in the room. The sound of it surely once again sounding extraordinary. The blonde smiled and waved her. Slowly slandering towards the desk.
"Hey Lisa.." she said, leaning on the wooden counter. One look on the face of hers was enough for the woman to sort in the chaos of feelings which her coworker was going through. "So I assume you still didn't ask her." she remarked.
"..Yes—" she said hopeless, sinking together. A good part of her love life flashing in front of her. Lisa shook her head, "my, my, your love life is more hopeless.. than the chance of me finding the right person if it's not you." she initially stopped to think about a comparison.
Even though that it was a joke, that tiny small bit of her that wasn't over her did something mentally. Yes exactly that tall, blonde, attractive, but sweet hardworking woman, ended up cussing her out for saying that. A small amount of hope was that which her heart clinged to. It wasn't that dream like image of ending up with her in a small comfortable house. But oh.. only in this tiny idiot similar imaginations based idea they'd find through a wonder together.
But Jean wasn't into Lisa. She saw her as a friend and a good coworker. She was truly head over heels into you. If it wasn't her being reluctant about it and as straight forward as the receptionist then she'd already have a girlfriend by now.
Life is strange isn't it? How funny she'd never get the one she truly desired.
Looking into the mirror of truth that would be moving forward and forgetting her.
"How about you write her a letter?" Lisa suddenly suggested in a serious tone. The blonde was taken aback by the sudden seriousness in her voice. The only time she was this serious was when the boss was around when it came to urgent matters as getting documents back. Just as threatening as she'd be in a alternative time-line where she would be a librarian.
Jean kept quiet for a moment. Sorting in all the thoughts that had been flooding her mind. Trying to find fitting words— "That's.. not that bad of a idea." she mumbled, looking up to Lisa to meet her expectation filled green eyes she smiled, "thank you Lisa!" she said, already running off to her next destination at work.
Lisa let out a playful sigh, "huh some old habits never change.. do they?" she shook her head smiling.

On the next couple of days nothing big happened. But finally as she finished the letter in which she poured her heart in, was when she was ready to go.
She took the usual route, listened to the usual music and took the usual time to get there. "Oh morning.." you mumbled not registrating that the tall blonde stood in the doorframe. She smiled, "not recognizing your regular?" the blue eyed woman asked. Dramatically looking perplexed, which was a facade to make you turn to her.
"Huh what—," confusion.. silence. "..Oh Jean!" you exclaimed loud. A tint of red rushing in your cheeks. The blood rising, while the warm anxious feeling in your stomach grew as it was her standing there.
"Uh.. what would you like to order.. the usual?" you asked, having memorised her order. Though the sentence came out more awkward than at the other times, unsureness mixed with a flustering feeling. One of thosd situations you had now reminded you: How she'd get embarrassed every morning, sometimes even bringing out a couple more sentences.
"I think I'll take something slightly different this time.." she said, her index finger laying on her soft lips. A small gaze from you followed her. Curiousity sparking as we're speaking.
"How about the usual coffee and a date with you?" she asked, pulling all her confidence into the boat.
You looked away, embarrassed. Trying to keep your emotions in check. "I'd love too!" you exclaimed that loud you actually felt flustered. You slapped your hand in front of your moyth.
A short moment of silence. "I actually waited for you to ask me that.." you admitted. Which made you take a small step back from the counter.
Jean's face was filled with the emotion of surprise. Her mind didn't expect that, yet she took those couple of steps and placed a letter on the counter.
"For you." she smiled.
"Me?" you repeated, opening the letter with a heartfelt content that would be unknown to the rest of the world as that was a secret. Especially since the usual order was finished.
