FONTAINE ARCHON QUEST SPOILERS

There were only a few days when the court of fontaine wouldn't be busy, but there was no real fulfillment. The hydro dragon had few to no past times, and it wasn't enough of a primary focus to worry about. In his eyes, it was a waste of time, time which he'd always have compared to a mortal that would grow old and wrinkled.

Once you have a few 100 years on your back, you no longer care about such things as past times. The days become less colorful and with more tendency towards grey, from dancing in the rain to sitting in the rain. He decided that redefining his relationship with humans would only further burden his weak heart. The tears that ran down his cheeks already caused more than enough harm. From massive thunderstorms to flods. There was no need to provoke such a scenario another time.

An immortal was bound to forget the quirks, smile, face, and even the sparkle that glinted in there with passion. It would merge into a blurry, unrecognizable image. The type to lose their meaning as they grew older and frailer. You'd lock them in a box of the back in your mind to preserve them until they naturally dissolved.

Neuvilette wasn't one to seek human acquaintances. Aside from Furina—who's identity, he wasn't yet aware of it. After all, she was a master actress who had concealed it for centuries.

This mortal he met on a random day, however, was odd. She stood in the rain, with closed eyes as she took the cool water on her skin in. She sighed and smiled to herself. The hydro dragon thought whatever she did was weird.

"What are you doing?" he asked, she shrugged.

"I am only enjoying the rain."

The rain, which was his misery, was her joy.

He chuckled dryly, "Oh, dare I say a young lady like you could become sick?" he said.

"A gentleman like you could as well." she turned around to face him.

He nodded. That was a point, which was bound to be made. With her lack of knowledge in his immortality.

"Wouod you like a tea?" He offered her, she nodded.

"I'd love that." Although one should never accept the tea of a stranger, a sophisticated guy like the Ludex Neuvilette, was known around the court of Fontaine.

And so they met once a century. Time and time again, the lady would make him chuckle, but as he opened his heart, he became vulnerable.

He didn't notice it at first. It was simply too good to be true. He learned about humans and accommodated himself.

He forgot about his fears—for the moment—until he realized one evening, "you do age like the finest wine in Fontaine. Almost as though you do not age at all, my dearest Neuvilette." she smiled. Her face became more wrinkled over the years. The grey streaks multiplied, and their supposedly last meeting was once she turned 70.

He had a lot of shared laughter and joy when he connected with her again.

It crushed him more than he anticipated when he received the heartbreaking news.

Traveler and Paimon, were passing through Fontaine. For the past week it had rained heavy throughout the day. "Oh look, it rains.."

At this point, the rain didn't feel soothing. It was harsh and cold like his grief. Paimon and Traveler knew that the grief the Ludex had encountered wasn't able to be swallowed and coped through in another way. This grief was so raw and vulnerable that it was necessary to break your heart apart and repair it afterward.

The bittersweet hollow feeling inside one's chest when you missed someone so desperately that you would have given your life up to see them happy, that was one of the few things the traveler understood and would have done in a heartbeat if it meant to regain what was theirs. What was once lost: their sibling.

"Let's give Neuvilette a visit" Paimon suggested.

"And give him a tea worth for centuries."
