▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The past week was an eventful while the moon was rising high up, the anxiety rose up with it as well. Another night possibly with no sight of return. Filling up and clouding the mind with him. A distracting, painful and scary yet comforting place in thoughts. The one she cared about most. A idiot when it came to taking care of himself or knowig his self worth.

There was hope he'd try to find it.

A noise appeared behind her. A small whoosh and particles of the color green disappearing slowly into the night.

A familiar face appearing as she slowly turned her head, their eyes meeting each other. For a tempered second a intense eye contact filled the scene

The moonlight falling onto his skin, making him stand out under the whole blanket of stars.

They felt shock going through their whole entire body. Every bone and limp protesting with their brand to not just stay still and play into the quiet scheme.

Feeling many things at once, but one of the most recognizable for her was adrenaline, shock and being worried. Their eyes going wide, "..you idiot!" She cursed under her breath. As she ran towards him as he just stood there at the wangshu inn terrace.

The distance holding them apart was only so little, but it felt like it was the longest it ever had been. Those couple of physical meters were ordealing— it felt like the agony she once already went through.

The female ran faster than she ever did before. Probably  the most her legs had to carry as she wore the thickest coat of anguishing mixed feelings and memories. The wind crashing against her skin as if it would cut it.

She panted, catching her breath. Her eyes already feeling teary. Only waiting for them to run down her cheeks. To fill them with much of the salty warmness she's experienced a longer period ago.

A cold breeze brushing against her skin, making her shiver. There was no more inflicted pain then the silence she felt right now.

The overwhelming majority of depressed feelings kept her physically at a quiet state of mind and words. The only thing she desired was to cry and tell him how awfully bad she felt about this.

"I-" he tried to begin, deciding to break the silence. The ghost that possesed the whole tranquility, was gone. Replaced with many different sounds and two people talking in the future.

Being now cut off by some sobbing, following warm tears that reflected concern and relief. She  grabbed his arms with her hands abruptly. Making him face her directly with no escape. She tried her best to pull the words out of her mouth, to deliver them right to him. In hope his mind would process them.

"You scared me when you said that and then vanished!" was the first thing she cried out. The first sentence they've exchanged in days after he easily dropped such a bittersweet bomb on her. She whispered, "I thought.." another meaningful sob, "I thought.. I lost you when I re-read the letter with your will—" she didn't dare to continue, breaking the heartfelt  eye contact for a mili second. His hands being filled with hers, only to squeeze his with her own.

"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" She screamed suddenly, which certainly was only supposed to be caring. He startled from how the kind, shy adeptus could reach up to this stage of being expressive.

It sounded very furious, but at the end of the day it was only meant to express concern. Quietly breathing, "I heard everything from Zhongli." a smile plastered over her face, filled up with the purest form of pain while the tears continued falling down to meet the cold ground.

"Self sacrifice is a noble cause and I understand your pain— but you are worth it. You're soul is worth it. I'm at this point still with you because I care about you and love you. You're not a burden and will never be. I'll stay by your side as well as Lumine so the pain as well as the survivors guilt is more manageable, so that we can laugh about the mistakes of the past and grow." she continues to ramble.

"We're all here for you, love— and that is because we love having you around, okay?" she smiled.

He kept quiet, sighing as he did not feel well enough about the thinking with what to reply. His throat was feeling tight. "Sacrificing myself was the safest option. I thought, that what I would've done wouldn't be as tragic then. I considered myself to be a burden and that even you would've been better off without me." He explained with a tone that felt absent.

"Never say again that you think you're a burden." The adeptus  went up to him to embrace him into a hug. Something that felt warm and safe, much nessecary judging from the moment. He did not say anything and justquietly enjoyed the hug secretly. After a while he returned a awkward one as well.

"Y/n?" he broke the quiet and hug to look her in the eyes. Filled with tears and happiness. Almost releasing it all at once.

"Mhm" you replied sleepy.

"I appreciate it," he admitted honest while giving her a awkward hat pat. That was more than enough for her though. He kept quiet, "This might sound selfish of me, but do you promise to keep being here until our karma.. devours us at a final?" he asked reluctant. You saw that it came from his most inner self.

"That's no question or promise worth. its something that is certain for me." she started.

"Of course I'll stay with you love, you're my reason I did not go mad yet. The one who kept me alive in my worst misery, giving me a reason to fight was alatus, the one who made me laugh feel alive and saved me from my turns of most dreadful insufferable madness is Xiao, you are the one who rescued me, who I love more than anything and anyone in the world. You're the one who makes my own depths as low as the abyss feel easier." you expressed giving him another hug.

A warm easy smile was send along with the heart filling feeling.
